I think you'll find pulling the RF Gain back to 1 or 2 o'clock and the VC Tune setting 2 to 3 segments from default on the bargraph will optimize receiver performance. RF Gain and VC Tune are a big deal on this radio. DNR's a given, it rocks. Sure enjoy my 101MP.

What is opinion on the FTDX-101MP, mainly the V-Tune and roofing filters for added quality of noise reduction and additionally the 200 watts, dual tuner and power supply speaker add to a better experience? If the V-Tune and roofing filters are not as helpful for added ease of hearing then the FTDX10 maybe the best choice?
