how about if it has a 4th director element? what percent shorter is it?

That's a very good question. The first director element has to be 5% shorter than the driven element. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and even 5th director element etc. of course has to be shorter but how much shorter depends on how narrow you want your transmitted signal to be or if you are receiving a signal how focus you want your antenna to be.
