Kuchisake Onna is one of those urban legends with no happy outcome. According to the legends she will appear as a beautiful woman and ask a passerby if she's beautiful or not? Then if you answers she's beautiful she will show of her slit mouth face and ask again if she's beautiful or not? If you answer yes then she will use the knife, scissor or whatever sharp object she carries to split open the passerby's mouth as well while saying since she's beautiful she will make them the same way. Though if you answer no she will go crazy and straight up kill the passerby.

I think like half of these kind of urban legends, they act as cautionary tales. Much like how old german fairytales kept kids in line. The only way to avoid kuchisake onna is to politely dismiss her, such as saying how you're in a hurry, and dont have the time
