Agreed with the cinematography and the music. The film should've at least gotten those nominations. But 1993 was a big year for other films like "Jurassic Park", "Schindler's List" and others.

I've always loved this movie. I first saw it when I was five, and ten years later I still love watching it. Shadow's bond with Peter, that's true companionship. And even though he was a little reckless at times, Chance's will to go with Shadow, and push Shadow at the end, is a heart warning scene.

Are people really saying that this is a Milo & Otis rip-off? I've never even heard of that... The Incredible Journey is what came first (since the movie and book came out in the sixties and Milo & Otis came out in the eighties) so this film is basically a remake of the original and not a rip-off of anything. Milo & Otis and this film are similar in certain ways, with animals getting lost and wanting to return home and all but they're entirely different. Great movies nonetheless though. :)

Milo and Otis is more about getting lost only to for Milo and Otis to take the many journies through life to find themselves and realize that they were home all along..I guess it's kind the same with this but not as much. Besides Milo and Otis "allegedly" has animal abuse in it.
