My heart goes out to you in this one each day brought you a different result expectations are always to come out on top! Maybe telling the fish you loved them and maybe giving them a kiss back into the lake might create a different type of attitude the fish have for you LOL! Seeing you hanging out with the boys and soon a complete full team showing would be awesome! Greg you are such a competitor it flows in your blood in your voice and your behavior but remember we just humans and life gives us highs and definitely gives us lows but it’s all how we respond and react from then that makes us champions! 5th place is still pretty awesome and something you can still smile about and at the end of the day we spend our day doing what we truly love to do and that’s fishing! I agree with the others when we say you're not "whiney." I'm amazed you can keep your videos classy because I normally spew F bombs on the water whenever the fish become unbuttoned. At least Day 2 went a bit smoother. Tournaments are stressful in themselves because of time constraints and the human need to know how the other competitors are doing. I'm so glad it's not like Major League Fishing with the Score Tracker updates - that would drive me insane!!! However, thanks for taking us on the ride. They stay pinned over here in NY! I came in 8th out of 43 on seneca Lake last weekend! I was in 1st all day until people started submitting fish at the end of the tournament, and I dropped down. I was bummed I didn't get the win, but I had my best tournament in the morning of my career. And on seneca Lake at that! Notoriously, it was a bad bass lake, but it took 90 inches at a 19.5 big bass to win! I had 84.25 with an 18.75 big fish! It was epic!

There was one fishing trip where it was an epic wacky rig bite but a few big ones got away after solid hook sets. And I was setting the hook hard after losing the first one. Much harder than I probably should have but I didn’t want to lose those big fish. I replaced the hook and the problem went away. Different brand but same style and it was a night and day difference.

I’ve noticed that almost every time you come unhooked you are changing you’re fighting angle at least 90-180 degrees in other words you’re fighting the fish to the left than instantly pulling it to the right 180 degrees that’s when it comes unbuttoned

Everyone of us would be upset about losing fish...I don't see it as whining, more that you are beating yourself up for making self inflicted errors...I have noticed that it happens alot less when you take your time...When you do tournaments, I can tell that you tend to play the fish alot harder to the boat...It's understandable of course, but you just have to constantly remind yourself to slow down and just take your time! Anyway I love the videos and i'm excited to see whats next!

Hi greg, just spotted why you lose some fish. I used to have the same problem myself. Once you get the bite, chill for a second, get yourself a good hookset and then you are good.
