Good afternoon, Philip. A very nice market there. What I like is that most of those vendors are so friendly. I think bara is the same dough as polourie except they add spinach/ phoi/ Malabar leaves to it and make it bigger with punching the middle to make a space. I like how the lady said * Hope ayou na video to send GRA pon abbie LOL. . Bara seems to be the top snack there. I'm sure you will go back to visit. Have a blessed day ❤🙏👍🏽👌✌️💯🇬🇾✔️

Zucchini is very different than Karila (sp). Karila is also known as bitter lemon. Zucchini looks more like a large cucumber and it’s from the squash family. As you can see, karila is very bumpy on the exterior. At 17:25, the vendor is telling you that she hopes you guys are not videotaping to later send the GRA (Guyana Revenue Authority) on her for taxes. I wrote this because I am sure you didn’t understand what she said because your reaction was nonchalant. 🙈😂

It is nice to know that you plant a lot of foods, for food is important to our bodies but I find Guyanese over eat too much, but the way the market is set up the food should be kept in a more healthy and clean environment. Farmer’s markets are things that are grown on your farm, not food that comes from other places. Those people should have imported foods marked so people can tell which food are from their farms and which ones are imported. A flea market is completely different from Farmer’s market. The lady that is selling all those cook foods. She must of gotten up real early to cook the foods and then she has them all in plastic containers and have them outside all day long for selling. They should be a more healthier way of selling these cooked items. Cooked foods spoiled easier when placed in plastic containers. They sweat a lot and causes all kinds of bacteria. One can pick up all kinds of virus and gastric problems by eating foods that are not healthy to one’s bodies.
