Not so much making a full game within the game, but rather pulling some parts off SEGA's other, more obscure games. Taxi Driving in Y5 is very reminiscent of Initial D Arcade Stage games, while a lot of the Music minigames have a lot in common with Project Diva, but with easier mechanics.

Spoiler: In Japan, driving at high speed in highway, mostly in Wangan highway(that exists), isn't illegal except for racing purposes, thats why some japan racers go in Wangan at night, there's no cop patrols at night, also the known Midnight Club raced there, but an accident with a red Datsun 240z causing the driver's life they dissapeared.
