It looks like the biggest differences between the 2 time periods was the amount of businesses and the amount of space in which they could operate. Spaces shrank so that more businesses could operate on the same buildings (Hence why there are more signs in Y6).

I love the sleazy feel of Yakuza 0 the dim glow of lights and trash everywhere. While Yakuza 6 is a great contrast clean organized streets the bright glow of new modern lights give it an "organized" feel.

Now that Yakuza games are on PC I finally get to play Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, Yakuza 5, Yakuza 6, installed on my PC, currently playing Y6 and probably going to get Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Ryo Ga Gotoku studios makes good games, just wish it was released on PC earlier. They also had spin-offs but never set ashore into other countries from Japan.

If 0 got a remake with the reflected lighting it would be pretty incredible. 1988 Kamuro has a more familiar gritty vibe. Neon lights, prostitution, disco halls, girls in glitter shiny one piece that look like disco balls, some dush with their Lambo parked in middle of nowhere, shoulder pads, huge piles of trash. I miss that about 0. I'd especially love to see all that neon glow at night time on a newer game engine. 6 Kamuro does look much more clean, safe looking and tourist friendly. Streets feel wider. It's a different vibe. Main problem is that the streets look freaking dead like it's 2020.

I also want to see a Yakuza set in the early 90s (Y0.5). Mostly just to see the h0rny rave clubs and the effects/reactions of bubble economy at its orgasm stage, which are topics often over-shown on Japanese television but are presumably not well-known to most of the non-Japanese audience that follow the Yakuza series.

Well 0 is a PS3 game so it makes sense that it would run smooth on ps4 but it does run at 30 on 3.

I've recently been playing through the whole Yakuza series, starting with 0. I'm now up to Yakuza 5 and I still think that out of all of them (don't get me wrong, they're all great games), Yakuza 0 is the best by far. None of the others have quite felt as amazing as 0. Granted that could just be that as my first Yakuza game the whole setting/feel/humor etc was all new to me and so it's the most ingrained in my memory. In terms of gameplay, Kiwami 2 was probably the next best (obviously since its more modern), and in terms of story I'd say that Yakuza 4 was really good too. I'm not far enough into 5 to really make a judgement on that yet. Speaking of Judgement, that was also really good but didn't quite capture the same wackiness/essence of the Yakuza games.

Saw the cutscenes of Yakuza 3 and 4 to get the story .now started with yakuza 5 . I played the first few chapters of kiryus story.Seems okay .then I tried the substories which seemed not as funny as yakuza 0. These were mostly stories that are trying to teach me a life lesson but I'm not here for that lol...just the burn out I guess. Now I am tempted to skip this one and try the turn based combat in Yakuza like a dragon. Will be something different

I mean it makes perfect sense. Zero took place in the 80s and during Japans economy boom. Everything was bright, vibrant. People had money to burn. Big flashy neon lights and incandescent lighting filling the night sky. 6 taking place in 2016 and while Kamurocho is in the midst of a war, the lighting is more subdued. More LED lighting and large LCD screens lining the streets. Everything is more subdued because that's just how it is nowadays with the changing times. It's a true shift, seeing how a place transforms over time. What was once a bright bustling city, ripe for the picking is now a run down gang warzone (At least as run down as a moden japanese city district can be)

I played for some hours to Yakuza 6, after Kiwami, played on PS4, and 0 and Kiwami 2 played on PC. The graphics difference between 0+Kiwami 1/2 and 6 is huge. Yakuza 6 suffers from really bad tearing, antialiasing, and an awful framerate. The other chapters have a beautiful and smooth graphics. Why was there been such a graphics downgrade in Yakuza 6?

i played 0 first and it is my favorite. unforutunately due to my weak pc, i only played 0 and kiwami 1 . but i watched k2, 3,4,5,6 on youtube. i can honestly say i like kiryu's appearance more in 0 and kiwami 1. new engine is good but previous one's vibe was better imo. by the way, the walk on y0's kiryu is deadass cool. he walks with maximum swagger😃

i mean idk i have all the yakuza games except for the new one i still gtta play that but i think yakuza 0 a top tier yakuza game when you compare it to all the other games before the dragon engine but my fav is most definitely kiwami 2 that game was soo fuckin good

The city streets in 0 look lived in, there’s trash everywhere, tons of civies milling around, and the 80’s atmosphere is thick.

@@j.vinton4039 there's not much you can do about that. these games are copying real life locations. in the 80s kabukicho was like 80s kamurocho, today's kabukicho has no trash and filth everywhere and is much cleaner. the game just shows you what it really looks like now in japan. i get that it's got less atmosphere, but that's not the developer's fault

I wish you they’d kept the engine in 0, 6 engine was a bummer, and knocked Kiwami 2 down a few notches. Finally started to get it right in Judgement…then went turn based. Hopefully continued improvement in Judgement 2.

@@Invalidusername24 Same. As good as Yakuza 0 was. There’s something about Yakuza 5 that just sets it apart from the other Yakuza games. I really liked the combat and the hours and hours of content we got with Yakuza 5 in addition to the great story
