Each year, incoming Yale SOM students break into groups for the Case for Community, a raw case that asks them to design a business plan for an empty lot in downtown New Haven adjoining a new luxury apartment complex and market. The project is the first assignment for new students and stands as an introduction to the Yale integrated MBA curriculum, as well as greater New Haven. Groups are microcosms for the Yale SOM community, offering the diversity of background and professional experience that is Yale asset.
