I'm from the black hills of South dakota and have been thinking about getting into bonsai trees and my first thought was ponderosa pine. Your video was very helpful and I'm very excited to get into the world of bonsai

Just to reiterate the comment below: thanks so much for leaving the video long and allowing us to see your entire process. it was very informative

Yes it’s good to see the wire being applied, not a fan when they just fast forward without seeing the thought process. Thanks looks great

Wow, what a difference that first structural design made! Love what you did with this tree

I agree with your longer video. Being new to bonsai and learning how to develop my vision of how the tree will look if I do certain things, I appreciate the reasoning behind why certain branches are either eliminated or wired.

Nice work Ben! I also live in the Puget Sound area and am curious about how your Ponderosa does during the rainy seasons. Do you keep it outdoors in the weather when it rains for weeks on end? I’ve dreamed of getting one, I just want to make sure I’m adequately prepared first. 😊

I keep them outdoors with no added protection. Seems to be fine
