@@kagedragon100 Thank you for your comment. I'll look for something. Stay tuned :)
Very interesting! Yamaguchi Sensei steps in with his foot next to uke. I learned to avoid this, because uke might grab nages front leg and throw him. But in Yamaguchi Senseis technique uke is destabilized instantly and unable to even think about such a counter attack. I have to rethink the way I do ikkyo.

you cannot step closer if you didn t make kuzushi, but if you didn t you are not doing aiki.

@@Eternaprimavera73 I agree. What is so remarkable to me is the difference from what he shows at 0:17. I don't understand his explanation but I suppose he doesn't recommend this method of making the ikkyo from a twist of the hip. That's the method I learned. Maybe it's a matter of personal style.

its teached as exactly how yamaguchi sensei does. you have to enter opponents center in ikkyo with the leg next to him which is easy oc.

I had attended Yamaguchi's class in Humbo, as soon anyone went near him, the person had no balance as the strength had zapped out the body, he was that flexible.

Lucky you for getting such experience!

@@EnjoyAikido All Aikido techniques are to obtain flexibility and not for control. When Yamaguchi Sensei was playing in between classes, there was no technique, I saw many Tai otoshi, O Goshi..etc. The attacker made up his throw.

When holding katana, it becomes kenjutsu, when empty hands becomes aikido

Did anyone notice that he set his front foot down after he finished swing his hands down?
@EnjoyAikido10 ай бұрын
It seems that he tries to do it simultaneously.
@ashowntw10 ай бұрын
@@EnjoyAikido It is obvious in some moves that he did them in steps instead of doing it simultaneously, if you observe it in slow motion. I think he intentionally shifted his center to lean towards the ukei to create a unbalanced structure together with the ukei. The only way they can recover their balance together is by successfully getting the ikkyo done. To me, this is the exertion of Aiki, moving together with the opponent harmoniously. It is commonly taught to keep the center all the time but Yamaguchi sensei masterly shifts his center to make the whole move more powerful and effective.

@@ashowntw Maybe. The problem is - we do not know what exactly Yanaguchi sensei wanted to show. We have only guesses and assumptions, imho.
