I own one and it sounds way better than in this video. I don't know why they made their guitars sound so bad. People need to remember that these are thin bodied guitars and won't have the same resonance as a full dreadnought body. With that in mind, it's still capable of producing some great tones.
@frmcf6 жыл бұрын
Generally, if a manufacturer uses solid woods, they'll let you know. So if it doesn't say 'solid spruce' on the spec, it's almost definitely laminate. If you use the good stuff, you want the customer to know, because you can charge more for it.

This is probably the worst I’ve heard them sound in all of the apx600 reviews I’ve seen. Acoustically. Which makes me think it’s not really the guitars fault. Everyone go watch different review videos, I’m telling you right now they do not sound this bad 😂

An amazing advert on why you should. Buy a taylor or a martin.
@TheOldMan-755 жыл бұрын
Sure, if you have the money you can always buy a Martin. You're certainly not going to regret that decision. However, most gigs force you to use piezo pickups and they can all sound great with a proper acoustic amp. It really doesn't matter how a guitar sounds unplugged when all you do with it is plug it in and change the sound however you like with an amp.

@RJT806 жыл бұрын
FatCat These are easily the most popular thinline acoustic/electrics on the market. They sound huge for a thinline and you don't lose much compared to a dreadnought if you use a heavier pick and actually go after it. Most people are shocked at how much depth there is. They are very pick sensitive though. Anything other than a heavy pick will get you a thin buzzy sound.

Yeah these yamahas are a pain to work with. Quite a few of my friends have the slightly older ones for some reason and all of them sound pretty bad, and are surprisingly fragile. Nearly anything would be a better choice than these. A low-end breedlove, a sigma, a martin X series, an Ibanez, something used. These AP series are nearly all terrible. Not to say that yamahas are all bad; the Pacifica series is incredible and the higher end acoustics are pretty rad (particularly the Transacoustics).

Neil Aspinall I dunno, a couple months ago I paid $100 for my first guitar, (a beaten up old Sears accoustic) that sounds about 1,000X better than these. I don't know if I've ever played this model, (Yamaha's naming convention pretty much precludes my knowing that much) but I've messed around on a few different models of Yamaha accoustics in stores and while the action is nice and they do play easily, the tone isn't there.

@jamieofalltrades5366 жыл бұрын
Acoustic playing is much more difficult than electric in my opinion, especially if your not just strumming chords. The action is tighter, therefore it requires stronger fingers, better control, and a cheap acoustic doesn't sound good usually, these guitars tone just sucks, they don't sound like the intonation is all there. You can definitely tell the difference in talent levels here as well, without effects all you have is your chops, no offense intended but Pete is a superior guitarist and to say these guitars are exquisite is a flat out lie...
@bongocat52236 жыл бұрын

Oh, that was a reply to you saying acoustic is much more difficult than electric.
@jamieofalltrades5366 жыл бұрын
Ray Torvalds You disagree? I'm speaking about getting proper intonation and tone from the guitar , not comparing technical aspects of electric vs acoustic. Most acoustic music is fairly simple, technically speaking. But, lets say you are fairly new to guitar, but you know a few chords. Now pick up an acoustic and try to equally reproduce those same few chords with good tone, good luck with that, with weak fingers that have yet to build good dexterity or muscle memory. That was the point I was trying to make. Most people have an easier time learning on an electric guitar because of the lower action and generally lighter strings. Now to make it worse add in a cheap guitar. Enjoy the flat sounds and buzzing of the strings on the fret bars...
