I have it hooked to a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 240's which are 4 ohms, now before I purchased the amp I called Yamaha to be sure the amp could be used with 4 ohm speakers and they assured me it could, but to be sure to put the switch on the back into the 4 ohm position. The amp puts out about 128 watts per channel into 4 ohms.

I have 3 now am using cardas power cord also audio quest power cord connect it to Chinese power conditioning l got it from ali express less than 200 usd 🤙🏻

I have 801 if you care about good internal Dac 801 is good if you don't 701,501 even 301 are good.

@@jjinglenuts I have plenty of DAC's i have smsl SU9, Ifi k5 pro, Topping + preamps. My current amp is SMSL DA9, Yamaha AX-396 , Onkyo TXSR608 and 2 more Yamaha's AV. I cant stop having more. I love to move around my speakers and DACs listening and i am eyeing for a while Yamaha AS 301 to & & 701

@@sktfan3843 I am Yamaha fan since 80's have many vintage units and few new ones like 801, 3000, 5000 series pre and power amp. Here is a suggestion if you are in u.s buy 501 or 301 and use its internal Dac now compare that with your other Dacs see which one gives you the best quality sound I feel company like Yamaha pays more research on there Dacs quality vs others only you can judge and finally if you can afford go straight to 3200 and use good quality XLR cables that beast will blow you away same thing happend to me when I compared 801 vs 3000, enjoy your music 🎶 👍

Does anyone knows if the Yamaha A-S501 will work well with Polk Rti10 speakers (8 Ohms)? I don't listen to music loud or even close to be loud. My Harman Kardon HK 3490 died last week after 12 years and now I need a new receiver/amplifier. TIA.

I had bought same amp AS 501 with 110V and I didnt know not to plug to 220 V so it got fused. How to repair it, whether step down of power while connecting the same in Bahrain will work?
