Do you still have this bass? Have your feelings changed about it? It’s sort of becoming an aspirational dream bass for me after watching these videos. lol. Love everything about it.

Yes I do and I’m still very in love with it. You should check out the BB800. I bought one for $800. Same woods/electronics but its bolt on and four string. Doesn’t feel the same but the sound is very similar and wonderful. We hope you stick around our channel!

@@bassedthechannel I'm kind of attached to the narrow spacing and 5-stringedness of it. Seems like it could be great for playing with a pick, easy palm muting and quick movements. Hard to find though, by the look of it. Oh I've been a subscriber for some time! Love the channel.

@@dylananderson4421 thanks a ton man! The 5 string-ness is the best for sure. However, I’ve personally found it more difficult with a pick. I don’t know why. I’m not particularly good with a pick though and I can’t play guitar…

@@bassedthechannel I play guitar quite a bit too, but bass is where my heart is. The scarcity makes it kinda risky, too, like. Hard to find one and play it before making the $1500-$2000 purchase. Lol. I have an '06 Unsung Epiphone Thunderbird for chuggy rock stuff. My fantasy for a BB5000 would be more melodic emo kinda things. Joy Division-inspired, I guess, Peter Hook plays Yamaha BBs, has an awesome collection.

Very nice indeed! I have one landing soon, cannot wait. What type of strings did / do you string this with? I had a mind to put on some EB Slinky cobalt flats or perhaps even some LaBella black nylon tapes - bringing out the fatness but also retaining some snappiness on the D and G strings.

I hope you like it! I really like the cobalt flats and now the DR sunbeams on mine! There are a bunch of videos on this channel where my Yamaha has the cobalt flats.

Bass arrived - it’s a badass axe! Can tell it will be receiving a lot of love. Funnily enough I am having it setup and restrung with DR Sunbeams! I had been meaning to try these for some time and my usual guitar tech is out of EB Cobalt flats and tapewounds.

@@CloaknDaggerUK CONGRATS on the bass! I LOVE the sunbeams. Some think they die too quickly, but to me they start getting good as they die. I think you'll like them!

Thank you! Have the bass now freshly setup with the DR Sunbeams and I love it - has THAT elusive tone that I have been searching all this time, so good. Pickup selector in the middle, has fatness and punchiness in spades but with that awesome “snarl” when you dig in on the D and G… outstanding!
