Yamaha C3 VS Kawai RX3

The Yamaha seems to have a clean tone. The Kawai seems like it has a warmer more colorful sound.

Despite the fact that all Kawai pianos have a bit tighter touch (from what I experienced), I prefer Kawai. That’s the sound I hear in my head, when asked “what does piano sound like?” And it’s wonderfully magical

lol. You did all that bass movement on the Kawai but not the Yamaha. The Kawai is way too bright and kinda metallic, In addition to it also sounding like an electric keyboard, while the Yamaha is almost voiced like a Steinway. I am listening with headphones on.

Honestly, this Kawai is too "blurry." I'd sharpen up its hammers. Yamaha is good enough but I prefer the CX series.

Yamaha CX sound is warm and colorful but didn't lose its crispness. GXs are also very nice pianos but some of them had sluggish and heavy touch. For Yamaha CXs had more consistent touch and tone. I tried many CX and GX grands but CX were much better for recording. For recording, CXs were much easier for good quality sound but it's actually the matter of preference.

Kawai RX3 is mumbling and dull, while Yamaha C3 is clear. Of course C3 is better.

It would be more accurate to compare a Yamaha CX-3 to a Kawai RX-3. Since the C3 is an older model, it’s like comparing apples to oranges.

The RX is old. The series came out in 1995. The Kawai GX series is more comparable to the Yamaha CX series.

I disagree. The C3 is comparable to the RX-3. The CX-3 is comparable to the GX-3.
