YAMAHA CS50 BLADERUNNER PATCH

Great job on this video! It sounds extremely beautiful and vangelis like! Nothing can emulate the originals, 100%. These are extremely unique and expressive instruments that have been overlooked but people are starting to realize the power of the CS50s and CS60s. I recommend grabbing one of the original three models, ASAP and having it fully restored by a synthesizer technician who is an expert with these particular original CS line Because they are very different from other synthesizers and electronics. I do consider this CS line as true musical instruments and most other synthesizers are simply sound producing modules that are nowhere near as musical and especially not as expressive as these particular instruments. It’s very important to maintain these instruments because they are a big part of synthesizer history!

the cs50 is a great instrument. In fact it is a scaled down cs80 with the same voiceboards - the most affordable way to get this authentic iconic sound. Beautiful demo.

Oh man...that sound. So dreamy...I love it. Blade Runner is my favourite movie and the score by Vangelis is just pure art❤️

loving the Vangelis vibe bro! it definitely has that CS80 tone to it that is so expressive and beautiful! those beefy brass sounds along with the soft pads are a treat! gotta get myself a CS50/60 some day...

Thanks man! it has an unfiltered sine wave that you can layer with the oscillators which gives those clean bell like tones then with after touch you bring in the brass, i don't know why more synths didn't add this feature it is awesome

jonathan bruno: a few synths do have a layered sine wave after the filter like the Alesia A6 but, don’t sound as good as the CS line when layering this way. The sine in the CS synths are the best Iv ever heard.

Lovely, so heavenly and organic. Love the CS line of synths. At times it sounds like there are 2 patches being played (0:28-0:31 light tines, followed by the BR patch)... is this all a single patch? How were the 2 sounds achieved?

The cs50 has a sine wave which isnt filtered that you can layer on top of the oscillators which gives you the illusion of a combined patch :) ive set the osc to enter with aftertouch pressure so you can play the sine on its own or both pending on how much pressure you play with

What are your sub oscillator panel settings? Great sound by the way!

all set to zero with aftertouch pitch to sub osc and the smallest amount to the filter also, rate is around 30 percent

Thanks. Are you using an expression pedal as can't quite get the "sweep" on my CS50 (I haven't serviced it yet so may need some setting up and TLC!). What reverb are you using?
