This thing looks like a pretty good buy. Especially for someone who isn't sure about getting into a full electronic kit, or doesn't have the room for one. The demo guy cracks me up with his rock faces when playing!

One of the best tips is the snare drum stand. There is no indication what so ever in the hand book for this. I bought an inexpensive solid snare stand it it works like a treat. I suggest to upgrade to pedals. The simple step on triggers are just toys.
@Diamondblade200815 жыл бұрын
The snare pad on my DD-65 has EXACTLY the same problem. There is a 'dead' area on the pad that doesn't sound no matter how hard you hit it.

I have one of these and some of the samples sound very real. I put mine through an amp as the speakers on it are useless. It sounds great with the stereo kits with headphones. I don't like the pedals.They are just the same as the previous kit. It only has 2 custom sets you can program which is annoying. The stupid sounds it has like 'Hey Yo' and other words make it seem like a toy. You will find that if you hit one pad one next to it will sound slightly at times. For the price its good tho 6/10

I used to have the DD55, but returned it because of a pretty huge issue (to me at least). If I would play two sounds at the same time, it would occasionally cut out one of the sounds. It wouldn't do it all the time, but enough to make it a dealbreaker. It also did this with the floor model, so I know it wasn't just my particular kit. Does anyone know if the DD65 still does this? To me, it seems like it still does this - look at 5:19 in the video - 2 consecutive "non-sounds" from the snare

No way the guitar hero or Rock Band setup is nearly as good: No internal sounds, no midi out, no pressure sensitivity. You couldn't use the Guitar Hero or Rock Band setup to do anything having to do with real music recording. Plus I have seen folks use this as their Rock Band controller: and it allows you to get drum sounds that respond to your playing, whereas the game just plays the drum track for you if you are winning. This gives you real sounds and real interactivity, a great addition.

nice review i have a few questions. 1 Are the paddles of hihat contrller and kick included in the package? 2 u have shown us that u can switch between hihat controls up to double kick controls, so how would u be able to control the double kick and the hihat at the same time? 3 when we hit a snare or hihat at different positions they make different sounds according to the sensitivity or positioning of the stick impact, does DD65 respond in a similar way to playing and produces the same sound?

GUYS!!!! HIHAT MIDI PROBLEM IS NOW FIXED!!! I bought my DD65 on Oct 2014 from Zzounds and it sends the correct open/closed hihat midi note according to your left pedal position. If you have an older version, contact your local Yamaha service. I am sure they can perform the firmware update to fix it. IT'S A SHAME THAT YAMAHA DOES NOT PUT IT ON THEIR WEBSITE.
