excellent video series Critical Rider ~! i'm a returning rider, making a stop in scooter-land before committing to a "real" motorcycle..after a gap of, oh, 35 years or so, i'm considering this bike or the T-120.. i'm partial to this triple since my last motorcycle was a '78 XS 750E - loved that bike, rode it LA to oregon and back..and the Yamaha is a solid $3k less.. Thanks, take it easy on your return, bikes nowadays are way more powerful and nimble. And go for the XSR, the best by miles! (test drive both and you'll have no questions about which to choose)

Tip - get some "303 Fabric Guard" on the new seat. You will not regret it.

That seat looks much better than the original stock unit. I wonder if the suede is water safe? If you don't know I'm sure Yamaha could tell you. I should be in today's market. I'd think they could make it waterproof.

I don't know, I plan to spray it with a waterproof spray just in case but haven't done it yet

I’m wish there was a flat seat for the XSR900. I hate how the rear hump pushes you forward into the tank. I love my xsr apart from this!

You might have to go aftermarket (i.e. custom made). There seems to be plenty of suppliers all over.

What's wrong with the standard seat? I always think replacing motorcycle seats is a waste of money. I've never done it. Lovely bike.
