Yamaha DT125 Supermoto - Little Tuning Story | + 140 KM/H

Hey, this is a little tuning story about my Yamaha DT125X Supermoto from 2006!
It has a Gianelli Exhaust (no exhaust restriction anymore) and no electrical restrcition (behind the front light) anymore! Topspeed is 140KM/H!

Flori Hopper Habe einen anderen Krümmer, die Krümmerdrossel ist nur im originalen Krümmer, mein Krümmer und ESD hat eine ABE! :) Es ist ein ganz normaler Schalter, gibt es in jedem Baumarkt, man muss ihn nur entsprechen benutzen! :D

seakyy hayy, ne frage! Hast du die Drossel ausm Krümmer raus gemacht? Kann man das bei einer Polizeikontrolle feststellen? Hast du dir diesen Schalter selbst gebastelt oder kann man den irgendwo kaufen? Btw sehr gelungenes video und tolle bike :-)

probably does more than 140 kph, i have a bigger rear sprocket and it does 140kph, both on the gps and the vapor speedo

Sounds good! There are two versions here, one that is allowed and one that is not. But also the one that is allowed gives you some HP and the sound is also better in my opinion, on top of that it looks way better! As I remember right, here in Germany you can get around 20 HP without spending money just by taking all restrictions out. The stock exhaust-system got a restriction though so the Gianelli Exhaust will be better already, atleast for me!

I want to keep my SM Wheels :) You need other suspension and front break if you switch to SM Wheels! I think the enduro suspension is too hard for SM x) :D

Hello, nice dt you've got there :) I've got a dt myself but i have'nt rode it yet since i don't have the licence (Im doing the test next friday). So i don't knowe what the top speed is but my dad tested it and rode up a steep hill with half gas an was doing about 100 kmh, so mine probably does more than 106 kmh :) but i don't think it topps 140, but the thing I want to ask, where is the restriction? Hey man! :) A guy from a local Yamaha Store told me that the Yamaha DT125X is one of the last fast 2 strokes. But to come to your question, I think it depends on which exact DT you got, I know that my DT125X got a restriction in the original exhaust and as you saw I got a new exhaust so I don't have that restriction anymore, and I also think that this is the real reason why mine can handle 140 km/h! There is also a electronic restricion behind the front light, as I remember this one is mainly for the acceleration but also for the topspeed. In the second video you see how I drive without exhaust restriction and without electronic restriction, the first video was with electronic restricion and without exahust restriction! I hope I could help you in some way but I'm sure you find more about it on 125ccm websites. It also depends on how old your bike is and what exact version you got! :)

Sdzuge Ohh, so yours is just one year older than mine! :) If you have the regular exhaust the restriction should be in the middle of the exhaust manifold (the curved thing! :D).

Hard Enduristu One is in the exhaust pipe (only the stock exhaust has it) And the other one is behind the frontlight (it's a little box) try to google it for some pictures.

Drú There are tons of tutorials if you google it :) Atleast here in Germany..! If you don't find anything search for keyswords in German so you get some pictures atleast!

what derestrictions have you done ?? I have the 2005 dt125re I have put on a full Dep exhaust and earthed the wire behind the light to the frame iam getting 75mph in 5th and once I go in to 6th only get 78mph max iv still to up size the main jet

I simply derestricted it like you and put on a Gianelli system. I am still riding with the stock 210 Main Jet but your system needs a bigger one. Did you corretly set up the power valve?

How does your DT even work with so little Main Jet?! My own DT needs 290 Main Jet with Dep and ypvs activated. 260 Main Jet was too little for empty original exhaust.

Some DTs seem to work with small ones, some with bigger ones.. In my case a 240 was too much

nun ja also ich habe ja die DT125 Re ist die gleiche wie die X nur mit enduro bereifung :) die drossel aus dem auspuff ist bei mir auch wek CDI ist auch offen aber die macht trotz dem 110 Km/h kann sein das diese elektronische drossel hinter der maske noch ist weiss nur nicht wo sie ist bzw wie sie aussieht
