Out of Nowhere Yamaha drops substantial DTX Pro/X firmware update w/ new sounds, new kits, dope midi cable module link,streamlined menu, then The coup de grace we have been waiting for so long…… DTX iOS/android edit app. I honestly thought it was never going to happen. Then outta nowhere Yamaha comes through!!

​@@mattryan6886 I was skeptical as there aren't many new sounds (only the recording custom) but the new built in kits are really good, even having only been built from Vn1 samples through combining, layering and effects.

This is MAJOR stuff for Yamaha. Understandably the screen on modules was basic to limit to over manufacturing and selling cost. But with the touch app now, wow.. this is game changing. Well done Yamaha. Also with new features and sounds, never a better time to get a one of the Yamaha sets. Damn, If I didn’t already own a mimic pro set up which is still serving me really well I have to say, it would be a no brainer. 👏🏼

Thank you, Yamaha! The Android app looks great. I will remember that you release fantastic, game changing features for already existing products when it comes time to get a new edrum kit someday. I am already bragging about it to my fellow musicians.

I have an iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 18.1 and when I connect my phone to my DTX pro it only says that it’s a non-compatible USB device and my phone does not read the module. Do I need a special cable am I missing something? I just thought I needed to download the app update the firmware and bingo. Edit: I was using the wrong cable/port. Requires a USB B to cable.

Is there any manual, at all, for the app?Please take the time to show how to get started. I had one usbc cable to usb b and nothing happened when I connected to the dtx-pro. Then I waited for a new to come and again nothing. What are the steps to do the first connect with, for example, Android. Do you have to do anything in the module or just plug it in? ps After several days and several cables I uninstalled and reinstalled. That didn't work either. Finally I restarted the tablet (something, like my phone, I rarely do) and finally the little green light in the app came on and it started to communicate with the module. Right at the beginning there needs to be a manual for the app so people don't waste hours and know if they're starting correctly.

Appreciate having this app (finally!). If there's a manual or online help area I haven't discovered it yet. If you're wondering about this it's under the 3 dots on the upper right hand side if you're in edit mode. That is also where the very important "pad lock" is. Something I use very, very often. That really could use a bigger place of it's own without being in a sub menu. I also hope they'll make a few adjustments after version 1. The drum set you press to pick a pad is tiny and the external pads are nearly impossible to use because they're so small and close together. It would be a help to make them bigger.
