Yamaha DX7 Mk1 Synth Hunter Episode 13

This episode is about the legendary Yamaha DX 7 in the original version and the Synth Hunter even gives a little insight into his workshop. In this video, the DX7 is completely dismantled, cleaned and refurbished in a complex process. Since the device does not have a backlit display, a new LCD display is installed here. In addition, the synthesizer gets a SuperMax memory expansion, which equips it with further additional functions.

Klasse, Jetzt mit deiner echten Stimme sind die video's nochmal um 200% besser. Weiter so!! Eins würde ich dir noch raten und das ist das es vielleicht besser ist die Arbeitsfläche zu Tapezieren damit es keine Kratzer gibt beim umdrehen bei geräete die noch wie neu aussehen. Ich nehme auch gerne mal dicke Schaum Blöcke so das die Fader und zb Encoder nicht so leicht beschädigt werden.

Sorry I don't understand German very well but at 21:25 You claimed that schematic is wrong because Vdd is tied to +5V and Vss to GND. Maybe pin numbering is reversed (1-14) ? Also I always put 220 Ohm resitor for backlight. Overall good job.

die Tasten legst Du einfach in ein Seifenbad oder benutzt Du ein spezielles Reinigungsbad?

Most of these steps are pretty basic. With a bit of training nearly everybody could repair the problems old stuff has to be used for many decades. Sadly our capitalist system wants stuff to break down as soon as laws allow. Companies these days make products so bad, they can't even be opened without breaking them. I had MP3 players with screws that were molten into the plastic on purpose. You couldn't open the thing without ripping that head out of the plastic, which meant most people would destroy the electric circuit it was screwed too. Tye designer literally tried to screw me!

Der DX7 war so ein hochwertiges Gerät . Ich habe meins auch noch immer ( seit 1984) und nie Probleme gehabt damit. Die Tastatur ist wunderbar. Sogar die Batterie tut noch, muss ich aber mal demnächst ersetzen. Das Superman Modul habe ich auch verbaut.. Es scheinen aber 2 versionen in Umlauf zu sein. Das originale und einen Nachbau das häufig in Ebay angeboten wird. Damit scheint es aber Probleme zu geben ,zb crashes usw. Ich habe diese Probleme auch feststellen können bei mir
