Yamaha FZ-09 MT-09 13-16 And MT-07 2018+ Bi-xenon projector retrofit light upgrade / improvement.

Since i had my plate modified to fit the MoriMoto projector, which just needed 4 holes drilled to fit the threaded side of the projector housing, i started putting everything together. One thing that would help, when he starts bolting something on, even for the plate to the projector itself, would be a 2 or 3 second shot of the nuts and bolts, washers ect, of what he will be using for this part of the video. I had to stop the video and look at the table a few times to see what all parts i would be using for the section of the plate he was doing next, so to not leave anything out, like a washer. Also they had a plate/spacer for the plastic piece that snaps into the square hole on the plate. Since i did not have the spacer used for that i found that the metal plate that you remove from the original chrome bowl which was held with 2 screws works as a perfect spacer substitute, it slides either way a bit so you can conceal it behind the black plate and is snug enough to not move. All in all as mentioned in my comment months ago still a great video. Thanks.

The video does help on how to put in this kit but it leaves out a lot of details. one being at 1:46 the first plastic piece you take off, when you back out the bolts for the reflector it doesnt just fall off like this, you would need something to get the ball from the bolt off the plastic piece, pictured in the upper right corner of 4:42 before putting the projector back in.

The ball is removed from the holder on the reflector by using a bit of heat so the plastic holder gets a bit softer and a bit of force. A screwdriver or interior removal tool to use as a lever or to pry it open also helps.

This is the same headlight as the 2018/2019 mt07, its just a little more difficult. So if you want to install one of these, its possible as I did it myself today!

@@Retrofitlab to open it up, you have only the top part for leverage, u cant open it up on the left,right or.bottom. thats why its more difficult to open up.

The MT07 should be quite similar uh? the only thing I am really afraid of failing at is when opening the headlight housing itself, would a hairdryer do the job on that glue? thank you

Yes, sorry, it is missing in the video, but to open the headlight it needs to be heated also.

The bi-xenon used in this kit can hold D2S/D2H bulbs. We are also working on a version with a Bi-led projector :-)
