Yamaha Genos 2 - OLDIES - Style section - every style

In this video I run through every style in the Genos 2 with no talking until the end where I had to break my silence due to the OTS choices for this category. Im sure Cut and Paste has been used on these, maybe there is an update but I've found the only chink in the armour that is Genos 2.
Tell me - Do you think the Shadow Lead 1 voice is better or worse than Shadow Guitar voice? Personally I'd be happy to see that sample gone forever mwah mwah mwah (p.s.My sense of humour before someone posts "Im offended" blah blah blah). Also please don't post if you have a comment like "too expensive or I can't afford one" - I can't do anything about that and I'm not in the position to hire you as my personal foot masseur. I don't have the room or money to pay you.
Other than that, seriously, tell me what you think about the choice of voices for OTS.

It's all guitars and thumping drums. All kids stuff. Surely there must be saxophones and trombones voices with reasonable waltz and foxtrot styles. How about the organ voices? I play old time dance music (sequence dance) and from this video I would not like to take that out to play. You played just one registration button and ALL OTS! Think I'll stay with my Tyros4. Fact of the matter is that you are a very skilled player and I enjoy listening to you play. I use AI fingering and make my own registrations. Kind regards, Dennis.

Sometimes the OTS choices makes no sense, it's an exception, when it matches....

Merry X-mas my dear fellow. I agree totally with your statement about this horrible shadow guitar. I don't want to say I hate it but this sound is teasing me for a long time. Many of these styles are also on Genos1 and they used that ShadowLead there..... I have Genos1 and I confirm that ShadowedGuitar is a lot better than ShadowLead. btw, checking the data list and comparing E.guitar pages on genos1 and genos2 I found pretty the same presets. I can't compare sounds because I don't have genos2, but the name are all the same. only some preset were moved a little up or down.

I'm glad you did this video Leigh. Because I was waiting for the Older styles. I'm not much of a grand hand at the newer stuff. I think we grew up at the best music in the world when we were kids and I know you are a lot younger than I am but you had a big taste of this kind of music. From your parents and well let me tell you there is no other like it.! You are an awesome demonstrator. Whiter Shade of Pale was lovely.

Many thanks Leigh. I love the way you improvise around the original melodies - that's quite a skill! Absolutely agree with your comments about the guitar and harmonica sounds and some of the other OTS choices. It's disappointing to see Genos 2 let down like this.

Great video Leigh.Couldn't agree more about the OTS. I have been unhappy with them from my T2 and T5. I've always had to change and save to registration for most styles. Like everybody else, i prefer to listen to your commentary as well as the excellent playing.

As many others have said, your videos are excellent with good balance between talking and playing. I am amazed at the ease with which you find a melody to go with a style almost instantly. It is a wonderful talent which must coms from many hours of practicing and playing. I hope that you play out somewhere for people to appreciate your music live!

I am enjoying your demo of this keyboard. You are doing a fine job. At about 23 minutes in, I was thinking the same thing about the OTS for this category. I haven't finished the video, I'm at the 23 minute mark, but I don't understand some of the OTS selections. In reading through the manual, it seems that the only way to create your own OTS settings is by creating a new User Style. It shouldn't be that hard, you should be able to update the current OTS to what you want and save it. I got through much of it, skipped to the end, and heard your comments about the OTS. I hope Yamaha does change that in an upcoming update.

Hi Leigh totally agree with you on the OTS, even on my T5 I always changed the voicing, then ended up using registrations I know that's a work around but it shouldn't have to be that way, looks like I will be doing the same when my G2 when it arrives. Thanks for another great video -Del
