What a sad news! I just recently knew about his death 4 months ago. Peter was my number one keyboard performer in YT and I always watch his performance before I buy anything. RIP Peter !

Mr Peter Bartmans, you are terrific! An absolute treat to listen to you play. Yamaha must be highly honoured to have a musician of your calibre demonstrating such an incredible keyboard! Keep up the great work!

Greetings from a Florida Resident! An ex Rimmers Music Teacher here. Last keyboard I sold before moving here was a Tyros 3 I bought from Graham. OK impressive Genos but some underwhelmivity I pick up from the vibes. Here a Genos 2 is $6000 dollars ++. Wow! No keyboard is worth that ever. A nice toy for self entertainment nothing more. Karaoke for your fingers. I would love one but NOT paying that. I miss Electones really. Gosh have times changed. Good luck Rimmers! Love ya. Gary.

Tell me, after watching many, many demonstration videos there has only ever been a little half-hearted applause, why is this? The better deal is keep your Genos and spend the Genos 2 funds on the latest Montage and a twin rack.

I am convinced G2 has the best sounds and styles of all but is it possible to move on from them and do some real instructional videos; especially starting with creating one’s own styles from scratch and stringing them together to record a whole song? Would also like to know about whatever tweaks can be done to the FM generated sounds?

Which is the better deal. Upgrade to a Genos 2 or keep your Genos and buy a Montage and double rack?

Peter Baartmans is arguably the best player to show off a keyboard. Indeed his multi video series for the Genos was nothing short of excellent - done about 5 years ago. So what has happened? This video is bad on every level. The whole presentation is clumsy and disjointed. However, the Genos 2 is what it is supposed to be all about but the sound recording isn't even worthy of an airing at the local karaoke. In the original Genos videos Peter was laid back, the sound was first class, he got the message across. This production is so, so very amateurish with Peter looking and acting like a duck out of water. We are talking Rimmers music and Peter Baartmans, so what the hell happened? This comes across like the piano player for a silent movie and he is the bit part for what is on screen. The location looks like a dingy corner in a seedy nightclub and we can't even see what is on the screen. The camera should have been placed much differently. As it is it comes across more as if someone has wandered in and decided to video the proceedings using the onboard mic. What beggars belief is no-one thought that when you are going to make a video at least get someone who knows what they are doing, particularly how the framing is done, and put a Rode mic on. My take; there were little or no rehearsals so they were trying to wing it; Peter is far better when doing his one man presentations. A musician of his standing needs the freedom to do it all his way. I could detect the awkwardness as Peter tried to hold together a poorly directed presentation. When Peter did the 4 video demonstration of Genos it was obvious that he had thoroughly worked out the way to best demonstrate the instrument. I know this is one video of two but this one showed me no reason to upgrade [if that is what you can call it] my Genos. This video represents; Yamaha, Rimmers, Genos 2, Peter Baartmans, at the time of the launch of the latest flagship keyboard from Yamaha. REALLY!
