Hello Leigh. I dont really know where to start. I still have my genos as original sale. I never did any type of updates or packs. Just bought it. Play it and thats all. Just as first day. For updates ,do i have to update one at a time or i can update directly from the latest update? And then for packs where may I purchase them . Im in canada and truly not much of any canadian tutorials or update explained or sites. I found you and so far i enjoy your videos very much with all great information

Lee, Don't have a Genos here, but I do have an SX700. Longwinded but: I downloaded the Church/Christmas pack from Yamaha, and finally got it loaded. I select user/expansion, and the voices load, but can't get styles to load. Important note: I'm using VoiceGuide and actuall buttons to get this done. If I press the "style" button, I get Canadian rock. I follow this by pressing the User button, but with no result. Very grateful for any help.

To load the styles you must go into the style menu - choose user/expansion on the screen and then choose the pack on the screen to get to the styles. This could be the issue.

@@LeighWilbraham Hi again, The voices load fine, and when I turn the dial, the voice changes, but can do nothing with accompaniment, i.e. how to change things so that the dial changes the accompaniment? Thanks

Hello Leigh Thank you for all your great videos. Here is a suggestion for a video... Deemach Blackbox Y for Yamaha keyboards. I am aware that it may not be interesting for you since you own a Genos, but for me and perhaps others who have slightly older models of Yamaha keyboards Blackbox is an expansion option which is interesting.

Thanks for the video. We have a Genos and I was able to create pack and install it into the Genos with YEM, but a lot of the voices in the packs are making weird beeping sounds when certain keys are pressed. And I cannot create a new pack in YEM I am very puzzled and frustrated. Could you or anyone give me any advise or help? It would very much appreciated.

I’d recommend contacting your Yamaha dealer as I’ve never ever heard of this before.

@@LeighWilbraham you don't think there would be something wrong with the Genos do you? It only makes those sounds in some of the Expansion packs voices like Country Musician and Celtic, but everything is good on the system voices.

I have followed all the instructions' to the letter and got as far as in my user I have Epic Styles but when I go to highlight it to play it disappears completely? what am I doing wrong?

A USB stick that was formatted on the Genos, and then husband (Electronics man), loaded the Expansion Manager on the PC,, reloaded the USB on the PC, all the contents came up ie Mantovani etc. from there the usb was again loaded back into the Genos and we followed the instructions which showed up on the Registration as Epic Strings, when I went to highlight it, it disappeared. Oops, I tried pressing the Style Button and the Home button. At one stage with going from one thing to another the contents did appear but then when I tried to play say the first one, I got strings, but although strings were played, I pressed all the songs and the same thing happened, the strings that were played were not the Epic ones. Confusing!!

I must add that I got the "Beast" over a week ago and trying to get my head around it, I haven't loaded any songs as yet until I understand all the bells and whistles, I know, Rome wasn't built in a day but the excitement of owning such an instrument took my breath away. I have had keyboards before but always got frustrated at wanting more sounds but now it has ticked all my requirements, it's just a matter of settling down to the serious stuff.
