I've been using the HS4 for close to an year now. Got it from a friend who had a review unit in his studio and it has to be one of the the best monitors in the price range I've heard over the years. I've been using it with the topping e70 velvet which I upgraded from the Schiit Modi 3+ last year and bro, the crispness, the sound stage, the separation, the depth is just magnificent. Might end up buying the HS5 as a birthday present lol Somehow glad to see you bought it cos I know you will enjoy it over with time as you burn into the speaker and it just keeps getting better like fine wine. @@King-yo6fc I have the XM4 and now the XM5 for my daily driver, and I do have couple of BT dacs. Just tried one of them with Apple lossless and some of the FLACs I have and the difference is insignificant to unnoticable. Also the fact considering the headphone isn't meant to be used with DACs and just sound good for a mass consumer headphone. It's tuned in a certain way that you can't change that with anything to begin with s it's not meant for reference. It's not worth spending money on a dac for it.

@TomXander I use it mostly on my laptop on passive mode so the frequencies are quite recessed, especially the instruments and vocals. It's muddy too plus when connected through the 3.5mm the volume is way down and doesn't sound good with a noticeable channel imbalance. I'd want a dac amplifier for windows. I do use apple music at the max settings. Can't use it without eqing. Now I kinda wish I should've got something else. Started as a regular consumer and now just want the max out of it

You should place the speakers tweeters at ear level if you can. Athupole the distance between you and the speakers should be same as the distance between the two speakers. Also monitors from kali audio, KEF, genelec,etc.. are great..❤

I use a pair of HS8 with Scarlet 2i2 interface with my Mac mini for the past 4 years. I dont do any editing or anything, but I listen to music. the losless Apple Music files are a different thing already. Even Movies.....they are a good spend of money, if you want to.

You could have bought a studio monitor with atleast 6 inch woofers, one like kali audio lp6 v2. 4.5 woofers will not be sufficient to deliver good quality sound between 60 HZ TO 80 HZ

Monitor speakers are useful to those who are into mixing, editing etc.. these produce neutral flat sounds.. not kinda tweaked equalised sounds which is produced by the common bt speakers.. so always consumers should think what is their need first and chose wisely Then always there is a guaranteed upper hand for a 2way seperated speaker over a full range driver Yeah and as you said spending 50k and all for just normal bt speakers like marshall is a waste of money.. 😅

Also, make sure to form an equilateral triangle between you and the two speakers-this is called the ‘sweet spot.’ Mix while sitting in that position, and your sound will translate well on any system.
