I own an SX210. This video is 100% legit...except the part about winching the boat on the trailer..WTF. You will easily smoke stern drives, V-drives, and especially pontoons at the docks, even when you mess up.

i have a 2014 AR240.. its a learning curve to get used to jets but once you got it down its funny to watch people freak out when you back into every dock

@leochup Our 24 foot boats, such as the 242 Limited featured here, weigh in closer to 3400-3500lbs. We tow many of our boats with 4Runners and have never had a problem. The low weight of Yamaha boats is something we hear owners comment on quite a bit, because they are easier to tow with a wider range of vehicles.

I have always wondered about that and when I saw this I may just buy me a 24. I don’t have a 4 runner but a 2007 Chevy trailblazer. Close similarity , right?

How do these handling characteristics differ from a twin outboard setup?

Twin outboards and inboards have a significant rudder effect (because they have one) The rudder provides some low speed forward steering in neutral that is greatly augmented by trust when its in gear, they'll also track a bit straighter at speed. The jet drives rely almost completely on thrust for steering.

@@dash8465 The newer Yamaha's have a rudder on the keel, it makes it muuuuch nicer to steer. The rudder is attached to the steering mechanism on the jet drive.
