YAMAHA MODX vs MO6, piano sounds comparison 👍

Disini kembali saya membandingkan 2 keyboard Yamaha berbeda generasi, untuk sekedar mencari tau apakah generasi terbaru benar-benar unggul dalam segi sound dibanding unit pendahulu nya? Hasil kesimpulan saya untuk MODX memang piano nya lebih modern, kekinian sample set nya, lebih detail juga karakternya, tapi dalam beberapa hal ada sound di MO6 yang kedengaran lebih cocok di band, lebih punch & lebar, hanya kekurangannya MO6 lebih berat (10,8kg) dibanding MODX6 (6,5kg) atau MODX7 (7,8kg) juga polyphony nya kurang hanya 64 voice berakibat ada sound yang hilang pada penggunaan banyak layer, tapi bagi yang suka sound Yamaha & alokasi budget terbatas bisa memilih unit second dari MO6 ini, very recommended bahkan untuk musik kekinian!

Here again I am comparing 2 Yamaha keyboards of different generations, just to find out if the latest generation is truly superior in sound terms compared to its predecessor units? The results of my conclusions for MODX the piano sounds are indeed more modern, the sample set is contemporary, the characters are also more detailed, but in some ways there are sounds in MO6 that sounds more suitable in the band, more punch & wider, only the drawback is MO6 is heavier (10.8kg) than MODX6 (6.5kg) or MODX7 (7.8kg) MO6 is also lacking in polyphony, only 64 voices resulting in lost sound when using multiple layers, but for those who like Yamaha sound & limited budget allocation can choose the second unit from this MO6, very recommended even for contemporary music!

I played on a Piaggero NP30 few month ago and its same main grand piano sound was more characterisic like my older MO8. The wave ROM chip in Piaggero is just 8MB, but its keyboard gave a wider dynamic responses too.

I have had MO6 for about 10 years I think it took me that long to understand all the modes of operation. Thanks for this video it shows how comparable the instruments are and how good sounding these older motif sounds were. I think Yamaha has really stayed with the same system from the initial motif for many years now just expanding the wave rom and working mainly on those rom samples and updating the hardware as new displays become available. The sonic improvements over the years have been very incremental as we see in your video. The MO6 is definitely a great machine for a musician that has to carry around his keyboard.

Rapaz, como MODX é tão superior, muitas camadas a mais e nos timbres FM é algo absurdo a diferença, mas o MO é uma máquina fantástica ainda nos tempos de hoje.

No offense. But the audio signal is clipping... I think you need to adjust the volumes of your modx... By the way great playing and nice piano comparison... Great video. New Friend here
