Yamaha Montage/Modx - Arranger Performances Set2

Widely undiscovered - the arpeggiator function of the Montage (and MODX by the way), turning it into a very powerful and top-sounding arranger keyboard. The workaround to bypass the few limitations as arranger keyboard is clever. Starting with a drum fill arpeggio sounds so natural that the missing intro arpeggios do not really matter. As a solo entertainer or accompanist for singers etc., one has a creative alternative not sounding like a cover artist. Great work.

I wonder what happens if Yamaha puts AWM2 engine to their top of the line PSR keyboards. Does Genos have AWM2 engine?

@@agst2006 To my knowledge, the Genos does have AWM2, the PSRs don‘t. In my opinion, it is an annoyance that important sounds, such as solo brass, are better programmed on the Genos than on Montage and MODX. I also miss the dynamic voice splitting. Well, that's probably part of the product policy.

Hello, how are you? Very good video. I wanted to tell you that I have a modx plus 8 and I notice that the piano sounds are a bit muted, but when you play the demos with the button that gives you a small sample, they sound very good. Do you have any idea why this is happening? Do I have to edit each preset? I have a P250, which is identical to the CP300, and out of the box, it sounds incredible. What could it be? Thank you. The Montage isnt an arranger , but with the help of the arpeggiators you can create performances as in my video

Montage is NOT an arranger keyboard but you can create performances as you create styles in arranger keyboards and you can control the chord progression on arrangers! Montage has LOTS of arpeggios as; bass arps, guitar arps, piano arps, etc...Then you can assign the arps to any track sound and turn them ON! Assign this performances to the 1 ton 8 performances buttons! Also you can create your own arpeggios from scratch as you like and use them in those performances! Performance 1 can be INTRO; Performance 2 can be 1rst VERSE; Performance 3 can be CHORUS; Performance 4 can be BRIDGE; Performance 5 can be ENDING! Also you can create a very full of sounds performance and you can mute some of the sounds as you like! Also you can copy for instance Perf. no 2 to perf no. 5, etc...and you can add more tracks! Maybe Yamaha or one of the Guru guys wil make a video-tutorial how you make those very detailed performances!

Sorry, I have to correct! Any performance can have up to 16 scenes! Let say: You whant do make a Rock performance, on scene 1 you make 4 measures intro, on scene 2, first verse with 8 measures, on scene 3 chorus with 16 measures on scene 4 you make 1 measure fill in, and so on!

I own a Montage 8. My problem is, that compared to an arranger the Montage sounds seem harsh and don't fit well together in a mix straight out of the box.. Example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGKzfaJ4pN6eoqs What settings (EQ, effects,...) do I need to make the sound of the Montage voices more like a Yamaha PSR-SX (warmer, more rounded, better in the mix)?
