Hi Matt, could you do separate videos on String Arrangements, talk about Song-Writting in Jamiroquai (maybe focus on Runaway, Radio, Smile, Smoke & Mirrors because how you guys wrote these songs is intriguing, the structure / arrangements, effects, sounds etc. again, intriguing), not forgetting another video on Re-harmonisation. Please consider. =)

Excellent video! I love the Smart Morph feature in the FMX engine. It is like an audio FM syntheses kaliedoscope. YAMAHA has rebirthed FM syntheses with MONTAGE/MODX.

Wow, is this purely FM engine based with some fX. I used to love my DX’s but it feels like Digital FM is having a renaissance. Plenty of replay informative videos now removing some of the mystery of FM.

Hi Matt, greetings from Long Beach California. I recently got a pre-own Montage 8-Black(I couldn't afford a brand new one at the moment, and the white version looks amazing) Would you mind to tell me what keyboard stand you're using? I got a K&M SPIDER PRO which I think it's a great stand, but it makes me nervous when start to shake a little, so I'm thinking in getting a more steady version like yours, or any other you could recommend would be much appreciated.

I wish I could play keyboard for a living just like you do, but I work in the aerospace industry and this is my hobby. It would be an honor for me if I get a chance to chat with you one of these days, and talk about this amazing machine.. I'm a former MOTIF XS8 owner so, this is "light years ahead" of what I used to play before. I'll be definitely paying attention to any comment or tip you could give me about the montage.. Maybe learn some funky songs from the funky band would be awesome!! Cheers mate!! You're an amazing keyboard player! (I want to learn how to play Virtual Insanity)

It‘s cheaper to grab a MODX6/7 and use a good weighted-key controller where appropriate.

@@RayyMusik Thanks for the tip. I do have a weighted master keyboard already. I take it, then, that MODX6 has the same features? I'm WAY behind the times when it comes to Yamaha products :)

@@ensiopoidokoff7367 The MODX has the same sound engines and can load the same sound sets but comes with standard keyboard, plastic casing instead of metal and a reduced control count but are still accessible with additional button presses and the touch screen. You will notice the large button matrix on the right of the Montage is missing on the MODX but all still accessible from the screen etc. I use a MODX7 - it's a great synth.

@@ensiopoidokoff7367 The MODX also has half as many FM engine voices, but 64 are still more than enough. I never notice a limitation. The only major drawback of my solution: the Dexibell S7 piano I use for MODX piano and similar sounds doesn’t have aftertouch. On the other hand it’s no fun to play synth and organ on a Montage 8 keyboard.
