@outskirtscustoms This was in California (around 1985). I actually received a ticket from the officer for riding a motorcycle without a license. My only license at the time was a car learner's permit.

@HeavyPantolones What state are you in? here in indiana they don't care what you ride as long as it's 50cc or less. But I've personally ridden a 150 around town and never got pulled over.

@trebay101 they are extremely reliable... i have one and so does a buddy. simple to work on too. mine was sitting in a barn for 20 years and all we had to do was flush the gas tank, clean the carb, change the spark plug and she started right up! i totally recommend a qt50

I had one of those when I was in high school (mid 80's). I loved jumping it. Not that it matters really, but the QT50 is not actually a moped since it doesn't have pedals (I was reminded of this by a "nice" policeman who informed me I needed a motorcycle license since I was riding a motorcycle. Huh?! Ohhhkay.

Dude my grandma's oldsmobile would do that and I wouldn't have to park it on an oil spot to do it either. Sweet scoot though. ALSO: The Yamaha QT-50 was not a moped and not a scooter it was an in between model called a no-ped which had no pedal start but no floorpan like a scooter.

@TheSuperChickenLeg hot-wire it..........not hard to do............losing your moped to thieves during the 80's was a big deal 'cuz they're easy to hot-wire
