I know, that's precisely I settled on two types of instruments, namely Yamaha DX-series and Roland D-series. I understand these are old instruments, but very capable if you know them well. I think life is a lot about satisfaction, and it gives me more satisfaction to have good understanding of equipment that I already have, instead of buying new one every year and barely knowing what it does.

Well, if you are mainly looking for synths and a workstation,, I'd go with the XF, but clearly stage performances, sound quality and killer piano, synths, organ sounds, Nord has them all hands down!! Plus, Nord has the best transitioning during live performances i've ever seen. That's important on stage when you don't have time to cycle through a hundred different menus for sounds.

The Kronos IS exactly everything plus Much more then the Oasys! The build quality of the Oasys SMOKES the Kronos and frankly anything else I've owned or sold! Cool jam video!

To this day it's still impossible to find a brass sections preset that doesn't suck. Maybe one day.

Realistic Brass sound is easily found in vsts with some tricks to add articulations and modulation pressing the first five or seven keyboard keys. With some training, you can perform some nice brass section solos and phrases. I can't understand WHY workstation keyboards do not have this kind of feature.

Roberto Miguel de Melo lol, most modern keyboards have ways of manipulate articulations At least both Yamaha motif XF, Tyros 5, Korg Kronos do. It's just for players to actually use them

Jan Hansen​, I know exactly what you are telling about, it's not the same thing as found in vsts. Extended articulation, mega/cool voices, etc, are awesome automatic articulations and I know for long date, some of them very useful on motif series, another's need some editing to be really useful, another is totally random, but there is some high quality vsts that articulation control is done by pressing a key on the keyboard, and what I said is that this type of modification (using the keys of keyboard) is not possible in modern Yamaha synths. The closest function is the two AF1/2, but there is vst with near 10 different sax articulations, up and down bow simulation on mod well, etc.

Ya I know what your talking about. The question is, if you purchase a big brass library if those different articulations is present, just in different programs. I fully agree that its for some a big editing job to make those setups somewhat like the keyswitching of samples. I don't know if its even possible to switch out samples on eg. a motif or other sample player workstations like you can in some vst samplers

Why would you say something so stupid like that. These are keyboards used by professionals around the world. Anyways this is a youtube vid. Sound quality isn't the best but this vid still sounded good. I have all these boards except the Nord and believe me the sounds that come out of these boards are superb. And those 2 that gave u the thumbs up, I'll give u a thumbs up as well, but I'll be using my middle finger.
