Yes mate bike looks lovely, Im torn between this and the cbr650r. I was wondering how this one does on fuel? Ive heard that the cbr may drink quiet a bit I was wondering if it was the same with the mt07 or do you find it to be quiet efficient? Do you know what you average for mpg?
@TEKKYTWO

Hi mate thanks for the great review, I'm not sure what my avg mpg is right now but I will check and get back to this comment to update you. I do feel as if I'm refueling more often then I should but that is down to how I ride 😅

I have a 2018 and I’m getting right around 60-62 mpg currently. Granted I do city riding and try to lug it around in 5th or 6th gear as much as possible, but do get on it sometimes (can’t help but to with this bike). Seems to be pretty good on gas, much better than I was expecting. Depends on how you ride, but if you want to, seems like it can get some great mpg

Hey mate, just started riding MT07 at my local driving school, trying to obtain my license. I've never driven a motorcycle before, only mopeds (automatics). Any tips on how to shift gears so smoothly? I am afraid to release the clutch too quickly when shifting. Cheers
@catfunt5583
@catfunt5583 2 жыл бұрын
It depends on where you are in the revs, the closer the wheel speed revs are to the engine revs, the smoother the shift. If you shift from first to second at 4K rpm, doing that very quicly will result in a jolt, so instead just release it slowly. If you are in high revs and shift up, and take too long to release the clutch, the engine revs will die down, and as soon as the clutch touches it will jolt. Basically there’s a happy medium of waiting too long to release clutch, and waiting to quick (in the low revs) Honestly only thing you can do is practice
@theutgardianchannel1952
@theutgardianchannel1952 2 жыл бұрын
you can release the clutch pretty quick on most bikes tbh, if u want smooth shifting press a little bit the gear pedal, then the clutch and then fully press the gear pedal, you'll see how smooth it shifts, also with experience with your bike you will learn how to do it, just do it slowly at the beggining and then you will see you will shift faster the more practice you have

Hey mate, as someone said it's literally practice and once you get familiar with the MT07 (or any bike you're riding) it'll become much easier. I will try to give you some tips: When you roll from a stand still, let go of the clutch slightly whilst applying a little throttle. Once you have fully let go of the clutch, progress your throttle response and shift into second gear. To do this smoothly, decrease your throttle (whilst in first gear) entirely then hold in the clutch and shift to second gear. The throttle movement (from on to off) and clutch (in and out) should complement one another. You can do this for every gear all the way up to sixth. To perform smooth downshifts you need to rev match. This is a bit more difficult but it's easy to learn once you have more seat time. You have to match the revs required to shift into a lower gear so that your bike does not jolt or skid caused by your rear wheel locking up. If your revs are too high and you press the clutch and shift (for example fifth to fourth) without rev matching your rear wheel will lock up and cause you to skid. This is because your speed was too high and does not match with engine revs. In this case, if you apply throttle (before shifting into fourth, whilst throttle is engaged) to increase the engine revs to match the speed at which the rear wheel is turning, you have a smooth downshift. I know it sounds confusing but it is much easier in practice and it will click once you experiment a little bit. Thanks
@catfunt5583
@catfunt5583 2 жыл бұрын
One more tip for you, most bikes are super jerky in first gear, but they also have wet clutches, meaning the clutch is bathed in oil. This means you can pretty safely hold the clutch about halfway or 3/4 out while in first and not immediately burn your clutch. This will make first gear significantly smoother when riding around at slow speeds

Baffles are out. I haven't tuned it yet and to be honest it was smoother on the throttle with the stock exhaust. Maybe it just needs a tune.

@@TEKKYTWO You are constantly short shifting. What's wrong with it? You are putting unnecessary stress on the clutch and engine. Maybe your gears are really short. I cant believe they are that short though, you were in 4th gear at around 45mph.
@TEKKYTWO
@TEKKYTWO 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think short shifting adds unnecessary wear on the clutch and engine if you do it correctly
@briumphbimbles
@briumphbimbles 2 жыл бұрын
@@TEKKYTWO Every time you use the clutch it adds wear to the clutch. You are changing gears literally hundreds of times more than I would. On most of the bikes I have ridden in that class I could have done all of that driving in 1st gear and not changed at all, I probably would have short shifted once to 2nd and then not needed to change gear again.
