The cartridge insert for the water pump has a notch on it and two recesses in the water pump housing. One snug, one larger. Which is correct slot to use? I have a 2003 90hp Yammy 2 stk

Haven’t done mine in 4 seasons cause boat is kept in water stopped pumping this year I noticed when I started it, so took it out w/trailer now need pump kit it’s a 1999 yamaha 40 2 stroke, looks just like that one probably different part #, one thing I want to say is watch out for Chinese impellers they’re junk, I see you used yamaha parts 👍
