Love this. Thanks so much for demonstrating all the features so clearly. I bought this for my son in the 80’s. Just took it out of storage and cleaned it up. I followed you on the video and am so amazed that everything still works and sounds so good. I’m going to start learning to play it over the Winter. Wish me luck as I’m not musically trained but I will wash some KZbin videos and hope to emerge with some tunes by Spring. Thanks again.

your guides are great sir! I just got a portasound 3 last month because your vid for it helped me fall in love with it and I'm seeing what else there is to love. I remember this one but I was way to young to have it plus pricey back then.

Great find for myself to find one of these! I've been looking for a Yamaha keyboard for a Sega Genesis aesthetic and this one is more reminiscent to the early Genesis tracks. Not the DX7 but I found this similar one for only $20!
@KeyboardKrazy494 жыл бұрын
Wow! $20 is a great bargain for this Keyboard! I paid about £40 for mine in which I’m guessing could be $60 in your country’s currency, it is a fun keyboard to play around with even though the sounds are not realistic, but it was 1983 when it was released so no keyboard sounded realistic back then but most of them were really fun to make nice and weird sounds on it

I had the model with the silver keys ... the PSS-55S - was pretty decent for the time. wish I still had mine, I could redo all of "Forest of Dreams" on it. :) Cool demo, by the way (will have to go watch part 2, now!).

Hello, the sounds I played are all the sounds on the keyboard, there were not any realistic acoustic piano sounds on it especially on a keyboard from 1983. Hope this helps :)

@imme12356 As these keyboards are becoming a rarity, I think you should get your hands on one while you can, for $55 isnt too bad, I bought mine on ebay for £30 + £10 Postage so I'd say yes, it is worth buying. Thanks for watching!

Great demo of the PS-55. Really enjoyed it. You inspired me to go up into my attic and dust off my PS-55. It's a remarkably great sounding little keyboard, isn't it? By the way, mine is missing a few slider caps, so if you ever run across a supply, please let me know, okay? Cheers

Hey, im thinking about buying one. This may be a silly question, but does it have any acoustic piano sounds in it?
does anyone know what a Yahama PS-555 is worth today?
@TylerWoodisawesome7 жыл бұрын
I'm curious as well - and I was mistaken as maybe you were, but it's the PS-55S (letter S at the end, not 5). I just got one of those - the silver/gray keys are so cool! I think that model is more rare.

Portatone ?
@KeyboardKrazy498 жыл бұрын
Barry Warne as it's a bigger keyboard, yes it would be known as a portatone, at the time I called it a portasound because the keyboard was a PS and not a PSR, so I assumed that's what it stood for
