Yamaha PSR-E313 Keyboard - Tutorial

The PSR-E313 was my second keyboard ever! I got it back in 2008 after my PSR-79 broke, but now I no longer have it as I replaced it with the PSR-E353 and later the PSR-E373. Now I certainly have four keyboards. I bought another PSR-79, PSR-170, PSR-E353 (which is going away later), and the PSR-E373. This keyboard is actually released in 2006.

The PSR-E303 was avalible in 2006 as it came out in 2005 and Yamaha always updated their PSR-E series keyboards every 2 years. The PSR-E313 came out in 2007. The Yamaha PSR-79 was not a bad starter keyboard, it has loads of fun song bank tunes and it also had high quality sounds for an entry level keyboard. It's a shame the PSR-170 wasn't re-released as a PSR-E1 series keyboard as the PSR-170 was a very popular starter keyboard. I'm not sure what I think of the PSR-F series though.

@@LittleRichard1988 Omitly the PSR-79 sounds better than the PSR-170, because the PSR-170 tone down the sounds and replaces some of the voices on the styles (like Samba, which replaces the E. Piano Trio (which is Funky EP) with Piano Trio). That would be great if the PSR-195 type keyboards could be the PSR-E1 series with all the styles from the PSR-195, PSR-170, EZ-20, PSR-202,and EZ-J22 styles appears.

I will hopefully get around to reviewing my psr f51 at some point, its not a bad keyboard either, just lacks features but for a starter keyboard, very good@@LittleRichard1988

before christmas I braught my psr e313 back home from spending 2 years at my uncles, the only keyboard I have there now is my psr 78, only one key on my psr e313 no longer works, I got it on the 7th of july 2018 in almost new condition and it was to replace my aging psr e303 at the time which I've owned and daily drove since 2011, being the first keyboard in the psr e series I've owned, it has near enough the same songs except for first and second songs, the last time I used mine was a couple of weeks before christmas when I was asked to play somewhere, in other news my psr 8000 is starting to show its age, one of the voice buttons has stopped working meaning I am no longer able to use the brass catigory

This specific keyboard was groundbreaking and a true classic. I'll never get rid of mine! Edit: I was actually thinking of the PSR-E323 (which has a Wikipedia article due to its popularity) but this is close enough I guess.

Actually you can still use this keyboard with a modern computer at least as a midi controller or a sound module with a USB midi interface and from personal experience I can say the Yamaha UX-16 USB midi interface is still supported and it definately works on Windows 10. To be honest having the old type midi connectors gives you more flexibility whereas with some keyboards that have a built in USB interface you can't always get an up to date driver if your using it with a newer operating system but Yamaha are usually quite good and I think all their keyboards with built in USB interface work with the same USB driver. You can also still get an up to date version of Music Soft Downloader which is what is used to transfer midi files if you have a Yamaha UX-16 USB midi interface for any Yamaha keyboard with the old type midi connectors such as this one.

Hello I am having a problem turning the e313 off. It turns on fine but how do you turn it off.

I know that becomes an issue as the keyboard ages, the only way to turn it off is to take the mains adapter out if you can’t turn it off using the on/off button

OH GOD HELP HOW WHATS THE CONFIGURATION TO MAKE IT SEND DATA TO THE MIDI USB CABLE. I BOUGHT A MIDI USB FROM STEREN TO PLAY A PIANO GAME ON STEAM AND I CANT MAKE IT FOR THE LIFE OF ME RECEIVE DATA FROM NEITHER OF THE CONNECTIONS, JESUS Its the cable that is just bad and will never work or is the piano configuration? I already tried putting it on the PC2 and PC1 configuration but neither worked, im going crazy help
