Hello there Jan, thank you very much for your comment! Yes I know that my videos can be very long at times, but I do my very best to show everything on every keyboard I show, this video would have been extremely long if I showed all 820 sounds on this keyboard in one video, that’s why I make it into parts so I don’t make it as long as it is, I also do that for other keyboards that have a mammoth amount of sounds. If people feel that my videos are very long, I wouldn’t expect them to watch them in one sitting, there is a ‘watch later’ icon on KZbin so people can go back to it at a later on date or time. I do my very best to show everything on every keyboard I show such as all sounds, rhythm styles, demo songs, functions and features and also do my best to leave no stone unturned, keyboards with so many different features, you can sometimes easily forget to show the functions that are important to others, not just important in general, but important for that particular keyboard, I have done a tutorial video of this keyboard, but as there were so many functions to show, I made it into 2 parts so technically speaking, there are 2 tutorial videos of this keyboard. Sounds have been so much improved over the years, but it is a pity hearing sounds that are identical to my YAMAHA PSR-530 from mid 90s.

Hi and thank you very much for this massive super review ! I have just one question if you're ok ? I'm not sure whether to buy this EW425 or an SX600. Knowing that it's (almost) 2025, which one would you recommend?

@@akcel1211 hello there, and thanks for your comment! The SX600 is the better option with better sounds and effects, but you will lack the 76 keys since it only has 61 keys, I would say that if you want the extra octave of keys and want a cheaper model, go for the EW425, or if you want better sound quality and effects, and if you’re not worried about the lacking of 76 keys, go for the SX600. Why are the harpsichord sounds on here so bad, but with the release of the better harpsichord? Also, how is it that many of the organ sounds here are not even on the SX600, such as the Gospel Shout Organ and Jazz Swish Organ aren't even on the PSR-SX600? I feel like they could be used and sound good in a professional arrangement/song/whatever. Also, 14:34 I like the demo you started playing there. It's the start of one of the organs found on the higher end PSR-SX keyboards.

If you think about it, this is newer than the SX600 so there will be some things not found on the SX600, the SX600 is still the better keyboard though

@@KeyboardKrazy49 I really wish the SX600 had the choir voices that are on here. The Gospel Hmm and Gospel Wow are only found on here, the E373 and the highest end keyboards like the SX900 and Genos. In this way, the E473 is better than the SX600. However, the rest of the SX600 is better than this.

@@DJIncendration well you can’t really get everything you want on the SX600, and you’ve got to give some credit to the PSR-EW425 for having sounds not found in the SX600, it is a newer keyboard after all even though it is only entry level

@@DJIncendration Yes, it's a real shame that there are no "Sho-Be-Do-Bah" or "Wow" voices on the PSR-SX600 and 700. This is really, for me, one of the weak points of these keyboards, although they are still much better than the PSR-E373 ;)

On PSR-E473 2nd voice is replaced by standard Grand Piano.

Is it me or the Orchestral sounds aren't really impressive ? Like the Orchestra Section or Tutti, which are supposed to emulate powerful sound seems quite dull compared to the ones on the PSR670 or other ones which activates several instruments according to the velocity and fill the room. Not the same samples at all, or maybe it needs to be played stronger ? maximum how much sound can be layered on this keyboard?

2 sounds can be layered on the right hand side and only one sound can be used on the left hand side, so all in all, you have 1 left side sound, and 2 right side sounds and if you have them all on together, you can play 3 different sounds simultaneously if you have left/split voice on, the main voice on along with dual voice turned on. Hello Mike , good demo.. I have a ctx 5000 and tyros 3 but am fascinated by this 76 key model.. hand on heart how does it compare with ctx 5000 ? And are voices as good as tyros 3 ( which is now 14 years old ) ?

Thank you for your comment! The only voice on this keyboard that originally came from the tyros 3 is the first sound which is the Live Concert Grand, there are also sounds from the tyros 2 and the original tyros so I don’t think the voices are as good as the tyros 3 but it is still a great sounding keyboard considering it is an entry level keyboard, I still think the Casio CT-X5000 has better sounds and functions as I think the acoustic sounds are great on this keyboard, and it has 4 variations per style and the functionality to create your own styles which is something that the PSR-EW425 still lacks, I wish there was a style creator on that keyboard, I was hoping that Yamaha would compete with Casio in that regard.
