Yes i own one, as well as a Yamaha PSR E453 and this is the same keyboard as the E443 but only with more indian Voices/styles included, and the DJ pattern has been replaced with the Tabla-Tanpura feature..

They conveniently forgot to tell you that it needs a sustain pedal if you play with one hand. They screwed up two very important instruments Bansuri and Santoor. Both sound terrible. Other than that, it is ok.

If you are going to keyboard grades and going for keyboard examination please buy e454 its registration memory is very fast than i455 . but if you are not doing grade and play in home for fun buy I455.

I just UNBOXED i455, and what I found is that Volume when MIN does not give ANY output, when Tuned to say..25% it is barely audible. Is this correct behavior? I get manageable sound when 50% though. This is with ALL default setting. Please guide

hello john, i would suggest you to go for I455. depending on your budget. Both are very good basic keyboards in yamaha. you DONT get these Indian rhythms in any other keyboards. Moreover yamaha boards are user friendly. you can operate them easily. You have other instruments and also other rhythms. My other suggestions are YAMAHA PSR 550 B and also Roland BK5 (but you have to work a LOT for these presets in roland). check for videos in the internet.you will know

Hi Glen, when I play Santoor, it sounds greatly like santoor, but How do I produce actual Santoor sound which is generated by hitting string repeatedly (the magic sound of Santoor). E443 is the successor of E433. No difference except the pattern feature.. I455 has tabla-tanpiura while E443 has western style DJ patterns....

I am afraid that's not possible even in the near future. As per your inclination towards more manual features, you need to double your budget & checkout the PSR S650. It has multitrack recording, style creator, and voice & style expansion feature.

For studio purposes, better stick to E09 or look for Yamaha S series.

Yes you can use that, but E09 voice samples are much close to the original than those of I455, it depends on your choice, & Yamaha S-series is very much better than the I455 in terms of Sample quality, and matches/beats the E09 in terms of voice quality & has voice/style expandibility option. But S-650/670, the beginner models of S-series would cost you almost double the cost of E09/I455. And the modulation knob & pitch bend knob both are present in S-670.

Forget casio 6300 or 7300. I know there are many features in Casio but the feel in sound is only in Yamaha. I have just bought Yamaha PSR I455. And when I play the keyboard I feel the natural sound. So I suggest you not to go fore Casio just go for Yamaha . If u want more features then u can go for Casio. But whatever features are there in Yamaha is enough.
