Hi Harsh Trivedi I used a Singstar cordless microphone (from an old Karaoke machine) the results were spectacular. Yes The Yamaha PSR740 does have Vocal Harmony a powerful feature uses advanced voice-processing technology to automatically produce vocal harmony based on a single lead vocal. Four distinct harmony modes as well as an extensive selection of preset harmony types are provided. In addition to straightforward harmony, the PSR-740 also lets you change the apparent gender of the harmony and/or lead vocal sound. For example, if you are a male singer, you can have the PSR-740 automatically generate a two-part female backup. A comprehensive set of parameters gives you exceptionally precise and flexible control over the voca harmony sound. Vocal Harmony Type A total of 50 Vocal Harmony types are available, letting you select from wide range of harmony effects that can be applied to your voice. Hi Mr, I have a psr 740. But my keyboard now does not work. Sound and any function still work well. Does psr 740 has any function to mute the keyboard. Please help me

+Binh tran thanh HI I will try to help. First think about the last thing you did before the keyboard failed. This may give a clue to the cause of the failure. Things like loose ribbon cables. Fluid spillage. Rogue sysx midi commands. Reset the Yamaha power on holding the the very far right piano key. You can download the service manual for free. On page 25 to 26. The Yamha 740 has many inbuilt diagnostics. HOW TO ENTER THE TEST PROGRAM AUTO MODE While pressing the C3#, F3 and G3# keys, turn the [STANDBY/ON] switch on. MANUAL MODE While pressing the C2#, F2 and G2# keys, turn the [STANDBY/ON] switch on. C. PROCEEDING THROUGH THE TEST PROGRAM AUTO MODE When the test program is started, the test is automatically executed. When confirmation is necessary, the test program stops operating and waits for the instruction. At this time, press the [START/STOP] button; the next test is automatically executed. MANUAL MODE The LCD will display ÒTESTÓ when entering the test program. To select the program number, use the [BACK] and [NEXT] buttons. To execute the test, press the [START/STOP] button. To proceed to the next test, press the [START/STOP] button. 047: Factory Set All the RAMs are initialized and set to the factory preset data when executing this test. The results appear on the LCD. 48 048: Test Exit Exit from the test program after executing this test. Good Luck

I'm not sure I understand the question To interface your Yamaha to a PC a lot depends on your computer operating system. How do you make the keyboard arpeggiate?

Sorry the Yamaha PSR70 does not have an Arpeginator function. I am not a keyboard player but use a Windows Computer to play my arrangements using a midi interface. I play Saxophone and use the keyboard to play my own arrangements as backing tracks. My musical ability is limited, an arpeginator could be handy making it easy to play chords as single notes on the saxophone. I'm sure there are workarounds using pads or create your own style files.
