I just ordered this keyboard on EBay. It's everything I love about a Yamaha Porta-Sound. Real FM synth chip, quirky bell sounds, synthesized pan pipes, built in Yamaha drum machine and of course a very complex Digital Synthesizer so it's a full blown synthesizer. Pay no attention to the few whiny haters in the comments.

It is a good old vintage music keyboard. I used to gladly own one of these many years ago. It would sound perfect put through an EFX unit with reverb and other EFX. U play very nicely.

I have one of these! It's a fun instrument to mess around with. A little external FX really make this thing go far.
@rot_studios3 жыл бұрын
Indeed! Have you tried an external patch editor too? There's a lot of parameters that can be changed, that are not available on the front panel... ;)

@@rot_studios I did not know of this! Now I'm curious.

Hello, I have a question. I'm considering buying a PSS-680 today, but I have a problem I can't find an answer to, can I use this MIDI-enabled keyboard in programs like "FL Studio", "Mixcraft" - to play instruments in the program?
@rot_studios2 жыл бұрын
Yes,the 680 has full midi support. Make sure you have midi connection on your audio interface as the 680 is too old for usb :)
@industrial_records2 жыл бұрын
@@rot_studios thank you very much :) what exactly is the connection you are talking about? i have never used midi before so i don't know anything about it. so what kind of connection is needed to connect it?

Hey could you please tell me how to move the scales in throughout the keyboard. I need to use the bass side and I am falling short by 2 notes when playing
@rot_studios4 жыл бұрын
In the custom sounds section you can set the pitch of the two oscillators, I tune both of those an octave lower if I need lower notes :)
@jheighten75684 жыл бұрын
So awesome thank you

Hello could you explain to me how you could connect to midi?
@rot_studios4 жыл бұрын
To what device and what purpose? If it's a PC you'll need an audio interface with MIDI or a MIDI interface. Other than that it's pretty standard.

Can you please explain me how you did to record that because it has been a while sonce I got this keyboard and I have no idea of how to record some chords for then play guitar over them. Thankss!
@rot_studios4 жыл бұрын
You'll need to look into getting a (cheap) recording soundcard like a Focusrite Scarlett Solo or an M-Audio M-track so you can record audio at good quality. Then you'd also need software for recording and editing music, this is called a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). I personally use REAPER, but there's many more (Cubase comes to mind). The keyboard has two "line-out" connections on the back for recording, a 6.3mm jack cable plugs into these as well as into previously mentioned soundcard. Hope this helps :)
