Amazing that thing ran at all.....Never had a bit of service other than putting gas in it since new. Kind of a testament to Yamaha I guess. Nice work BC as always.

As much a pain as the Raider is to change filter and plugs the Stratoliner is another level of headache. The frame design of the Raider allows much better access. I used iridium plugs when I replaced mine. The plug change interval recommended by Yamaha is mostly to make dealers more 💰. Thanks for the video.

Awesome job there! I just bought a Raider six months ago... love the way they handle. Yours is much nicer than mine hehe. And yes them plugs are a real pain in the you know what... except my chrome trim piece on my rear exaust pipe flange sits on the outside of the flange and not behind the flange. What I'm seeing on mine is that the chrome piece hides the flange and not the flange hides the chrome...

Those mud daubers can be little boogers. I liked the sound of the rain on the roof. Everything turned out to be simple fixes, seems like a good day.

I’ve enjoyed the tinkering but it has gotten aggravating a few times, fixing things that were the result of neglect.

Making progress! Yeah! You have more patience than I do with all that polishing. Must admit that it sure looks good, when it's done. Thanks for sharing. God Bless. PS: Like your plan for getting that last plug in place. Good idea.

Polishing is kind of peaceful. I’ve always enjoyed it. When I wax a car or truck, I break it down into small sections at a time.

Never heard of Flitz polish, though. I'll have to get some for my obsession.😄 You have done an amazing job on that abused bike!

The little exhaust piece was overlooked by aftermarket exhaust companies and they don’t make the exhaust right to make it tight. I over torqued my exhaust because of that. I know I’m a little late but figured I’d add that.

Holy smokes that is the nastiest air filter I've seen in a while! That plug was gapped at .000000000001. Don't forget to change out the brake and clutch fluid. Mine was in rough shape!

Take a look at your new spark plug socket. The hex on there should be 17MM. You can use that to pull the front axle.

thanks but its a 19 MM that I needed.

You bought the Yamaha at the dealership you got the new Honda right? If so, sad to think a dealership would sell a bike without first doing basic maintenance on it. At least you get to know the bike better after working on it.

Yep. Hind sight is 20/20 but I wish I had done a little investigating into their reputation. They have a lot of bad reviews for poor service.

I was looking for how to remove the raider gas tank completely off the bike so I watched your whole video and you didn’t show that. Apparently this bike has been sitting for four years and I want to totally clean that tank out good except for you already have the tank and didn’t show me how to take it off, mostly which hoses to disconnect
