You are a legend. Was very close to giving up and wiring the ps4 direct to the tv and using optical to my receiver. Mine was on 4k mode 2 and had to change to mode 1. Thanks!

Same issue on Yamaha v385. This is not working on the Xbox series X. NO HDR and No 1080p 120fps. Yamaha really needs to fix this!

You have an AV Receiver like I do, and I wanted to ask if you knew why the input would change every time I hit the PS5 button on the controller? It keeps defaulting the Input to AV1 (Which is labeled TV) but we use our Audio 101 channel for gaming and no sound comes through on AV1. New to the PS5 so I have been searching, I couldn't get the HDR to work earlier either so Im going to try this. If you don't know it's fine, or if you don't want to answer. Thanks for this video! =]

Get a better up2date hdmi cable and come back and tell me if that works. (Hdmi 2.0)

@@DUGLESSM Thanks. I bought a new HDMI today and tried connecting my HDMI Switcher to see if that'd help. In case anyone asks you or, if you have someone who comes across this issue. I had to turn off 'Enable HDMI Device Link' for it to stop doing that. Also, I went through your instructions and got the HDR fixed also! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I love all of you who put these types of videos up, you have no idea how helpful it is to everyone who may not know these things.

It appears the RX-A1040 cannot show 4K discs from a PS5. Details: I am having issues getting the PS5 to play 4K discs thru a Yamaha RX-A1040. The PS5 comes up as 4K but when the media player starts it falls back to 1080p. I have updated the firmware and used this video to switch between the 4K modes 1 & 2. Both fail. It was already on mode 2 which works for PS5 menu. I know the receiver is the culprit because if I connect the PS5 directly to the projector it works. It is disappointing to think I need to replace the receiver. I will continue to research the issue but I think I am out of options.

My PS4 isn't pro and it was working for a while but all of a sudden isn't and can't get the receiver (RX-V4A) to recognize it anymore. Usually the screen will say "Playstation" on the ARC HDMI input (Hdmi 3) I fail at life...

I have the Brand RX V377 and all of the sudden when I have my ps4 pro connected to my Samsung TV my audio receiver would be to capture the sound now for some reason it dont no and the VX 377 has 4k pass through but not 4k on the display you did lond story short I have to put the ps4 hdmi Cable in the Samsung one connect running to the ps4 and another Hdmi running to the receiver to the one connect but my settings on my rx VX 377 sound comes out find for TV but I have to switch it to AV 1 since in do not have no labels on the back that says HDCP 2.2 OR 2.3 FOR 4K ON my receiver but maybe either Samsung or Sony rollout an update and screw something up and I contacted Yamaha to see if it i needed a firmware update to the receiver they said because they don't have one available and I had this receiver since 2014

Yes MODE 2 but the intent of the video is for YOU to toggle through WHATEVER mode allows you to game with 4k HDR through the receiver
