Noticed the same thing when we switched up from a SC48 to a L200 from SSL. So much power and depth can come from a good quality preamp

I’d love to do something like that however my hunch would be that they’d be pretty difficult to hear the difference between those two. I would imagine they are in the same category of intro level gear built for efficiency and affordability
