the pickup coil or pulsar coil creates a pulse at a particular time, this pulse is used to trigger the cdi to create a spark signal which intern triggers the HT coil to create a high voltage signal which is converted to a spark using the spark

Great video as usual Brother. 1, I have few questions regarding the conversion as I am planning to buy RDD CDI(just the CDI alone) and fix it on my rx100. I heard that it doesn't work with rx100 12v setup which came in later rx100 models so, we had to convert to rx135 setup for it work. Is it true? 2. Or is it simple to buy an rx135 magnet assembly and fix it in, apart from timing it. If we want to go with this approach, I believe we need to change the wiring as well. Sorry, I am all over the place but want to hear from you.

mjshaheed now RDD cdi’s come with connectors for rx 100. If not then it’s a very difficult task, technically you can get away with just changing the coil plate and the magnet, but it might not work as expected since the crank is not balanced to take the additional load of the 135 magnet. It’s better to get the RX 100 cdi or convert the 135 CDI to 100 by changing the connectors if you already have a cdi

Vysakh Vincent there are 2 kind of wiring kits, if you have the 12V wiring kit then it will take the RR unit from 135, if it’s a 6V wiring then you need a connector to connect the 135 RR unit. The rx 100 6V has a 3 pin RR unit and Rx100 12 V has a 4 pin RR unit (same as rx 135)

Sir, I got my rx100's cylinder rebored and I tried to press the piston(with rings installed) inside the cylinder without any lube. Now, there is a straight scoring mark(about an inch)on the top section of the cylinder wall. I could feel it with my nail. What can I do now to remove it? Ankur Borah the new wiring loom for Rx 100 comes with 4 pin connector. Only 3 things apart from all the bulbs needs replacement. Lighting coil(fattest coil), RR unit and battery. At present I don’t have a 6V rx 100. I will make a video once I get one.

@@AB-hs9pw consider your system as a bank account, you have 12 Rupees in the account and you withdraw 12, but you also keep adding 12-14 rupee to the account, your average balance is going to be above 12. now consider if you add just 6-7 rupee and your withdrawal is 12 no matter what. @@Yamakaze but OE Lighting Coil is not available nowadays and other which brand you would like to suggest are reliable and durable.Many mechanic don't prefer to fit brand name Swiss as all the component available of this brand is not at all reliable. Yamaha genuine partsOE, or NIippon-India products of Yamaha RX series are not available in my or near by homecity Ranchi. Please suggest about the availability of the said parts in fair price in any of the southern states of India as far as my assumption RX series bikes spares are heavily stocked and are sold in a very expensive price as some sellers can demand any high price, double are more than that. Please help from where it can be bought if the converstion of electrical system 12volt to 6volt putting a new good reliable brand other than Genuine Yamaha Parts12v Lighting Coil instead of getting used 12v L-Coils from second hand market or from a scrapped bike having 12v electrical system. Ranjit Singh Manki I have a different take on the parts hoarding issue. I have traveled 70-80 kms to scout for parts. I have one shop on my way to home from office. Even though I know I can buy rare stuff from the shop which is far, it’s not practical to travel that far, and when I go there I buy only the necessary things and not hoard parts like some people do. Now this is enjoyable and makes sense once or twice a year not every time I want to. I spend atleast 2000 rupees fuel and a whole day. So if you look at it, it’s wise to pay something extra for parts which will be delivered to you, at your convenience. Realistically even Yamaha has increased the prices, the silencer which used to cost 1000, now costs 2500. Chan cover which was 600 is 2500. I can’t blame these Internet sellers who travel to remote shops and buy stuff in bulk to make a profit. I know it’s not fair sometimes. 10k for a rx front mudguard is just plain stupid, but people do ask for funny prices at times, there are people who see value in that. Now to answer your question. Swiss is the only brand available here as well. The mechanics are against it because it might blow up in a day. Used coil is the only option then if you are not willing to wait or pay for OE stuff. One of our subscribers from JH had recently converted his rx 100 to 12v he bought the entire rx 100 coil setup from Swiss and installed it on his 100, he is very happy

Vinayak Malik yes you can install rx 135 magnet on an rx 100 crank, the rr unit can be fitted on the chassis no problem, if you change the rx 100 coil you will have to get rx 135 coil and CDI as well along with the 135 wiring. Best idea is to just change the lighting/ charging coil and install the rx 135 magnet, the new rx 100 wiring can take a 135 rr unit, I am running a 135 rr unit myself

എന്നെ വളരെ അധികം ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കാര്യമാണ് എന്റെ 135 ന്റെ സ്റ്റാർട്ടിങ് trouble.. ഞാൻ വർക്ക്‌ ചെയ്യുന്നത് north india യിലാണ്.. തണുപ്പ്കാലത്ത് രാവിലെ വണ്ടി സ്റ്റാർട്ട്‌ ചെയ്യാൻ ഒരു രക്ഷേം ഇല്ല.. ഒരു 20 കിക്സ് ചെയ്താലും നടക്കില്ല ചിലപ്പോൾ. പിന്നെ ഇറക്കം വിട്ട് ഗിയർ അടിച്ചു സ്റ്റാർട്ട്‌ ചെയ്യണം.. കാർബുറേറ്റർ ക്ലീൻ ചെയ്തു, വാൽവ് ക്ലീൻ ചെയ്തു, spark plug ക്ലീൻ ആണ്, airfilter ക്ലീൻ ആണ്, പിസ്റ്റൺ ന്റെ കാർബൺ ഒക്കെ ക്ലീൻ ചെയ്തു.. അങ്ങിനെ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതൊക്കെ അത്യാവശ്യം ചെയ്തു നോക്കി.. എന്നാലും വണ്ടി തണുത്താൽ പിന്നെ സ്റ്റാർട്ട്‌ ആക്കാൻ ഒരു 10 മിനിറ്റ് എടുക്കും.. സ്റ്റാർട്ട്‌ ആയാൽ പിന്നെ പുലിയാണ്... ഒരു പ്രശ്നോം ഇല്ല.. missing, lag, ഒന്നും ഇല്ല... നോർമൽ കാലാവസ്ഥയിലും കുഴപ്പം ഇല്ല... ദയവു ചെയ്തു എനിക്ക് എന്തെങ്കിലും ഒരു solution പറഞ്ഞു തരണം bro.. . Coil വല്ലോം മാറ്റണമോ?.12 വോൾട് ആകണമോ??.. വേറെ എന്തെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യണമോ?.. പ്ലീസ് reply me fast bro.... contact cheyyan number tharamo?

As what my mechanic did by only changing the Rectifier, all bulbs of 6v and battery to 12volt and nothing else he did.Rectifier/Charger of 12v is easily available in Brand Minda&Swiss. If anywhere available OE of Radoot175Excel came in 4speed Gear System manufactured till year as I remember till 2002-3 having the same Rectifier in 12v as of RX100's three pin Connector that is fitted easily in the existing wiring Connector of RX100.If according to to you by replacing the Rectifier of RX 135 the Connector of the wiring of RX100 will not fit on it.As the pin arrangement is different in RX100 & RX135 There is no need change the CDI unit.If anybody wants to replace the CoilPlate assembly for converting in 12v by putting 135's unit magnet should be required to fitted of 135 by removing the riveted plate to reduce the weight of the magnet and put by replacing the wiring, Rectifier and CDI unit.These replacement only required when as I mentioned above putting the entire Coil Plate & Magnet assembly of RX135. Initially we forced to put Swiss brand Rectifier, went off within a day hardly after covering 5o kilometers. After a week Minda brand Rectifier came in stock.Luckly still it is running well since last six months covered 1200 kilometres.As I hardly take ride just for few kilometres only. In rest of the time I use scooter or other bikes.

The world has evolved a lot, the see kinda/swiss wiring kits for 100 come with a 4 pin connector, the 3 pin can be converted into 4 pin as 2 pins in out of the 4 are ground. only changing the rectifier/ bulbs to 12V ones won't cut it, that's the reason why people complain about the rx 100 lighting. As mentioned everything needs to be changed, you cannot convert it to 12 V by replacing the whole coil with 12 V. it will work but you will loose the peppy nature of the 100.
