I just purchased one of these receivers in like new condition from someone that used it for a home theater system. The only reason he was getting rid of it was because he had 9 speakers in his theater and he wanted to use them all without compromising the surround decoding. He did keep this receiver hooked up to his home theater and allowed me to listed to it. Wow! That's all I can say! I was sold almost right away. I'm looking forward to finishing my home theater and hooking this up. I'm curious what receiver you chose, if any yet?

Yes. It has 7 channels of amplification that can be alocated to do what ever you want. Have a ply in the Set Up, under Speaker Configuration. It is easy and has a good on screen display.

Yea I figured it out now I was having trouble getting atmos to show up on front display when I play a Dolby atmos movie it says atmos/pcm or atmos/DTHD does the AI sound mode interfere with atmos ?

The speakers remain on, but I think the sound track gets knocked back to stereo (as the headphones become the lowest common denominator)

@@TLPCHC For those that want to listen late at night so as not to disturb those sleeping, how would they turn off the speakers while listening with bluetooth headphones ? I would think the receiver is "smart" enough to shut the speakers off automatically when bluetooth headphones are connected.

Bluetooth headphones have their own volume control, so just turn down the amp and adjust the volume from the headphones.

@@blueribb99 Using bluetooth to listen to TV is not recommended because of lip-sync problems. It is best to use regular headphones.

That was Good. Better than the Seppo stuff......Pretty impressive Blade Handling. I'd like to see a trigger guard added to it so you could do a quick flick around on your finger a few times before returning it to the Holster, Gunslinger Style! And I was wondering what was off camera that you were flicking all the stuff into, and more importantly how many bits made it into the box/container? Sounded like a pretty good success rate. ;-)

Yes, it works. Pretty well. I am not a 100% fan-boy though, as really good speakers and gear might best suit a classic "more direct" processing option.

The RX-A1080 is very, very good and a sweet spot in the Yamaha range. If the budget alows, please grab the better RX-A1080.

5000rs is approx $1,100 NZD, so limited in the Aventage range. Please look at the RX-A1080, as this is a SWEET spot.

Throwing things away is really really a bad thing. Its not cool and it is not funny, it is a strange habit over all those reviews. Is that supoosed to show that yout are so clever that you don't need them ? Or that they are completly useless for everyone ? Is that a message for the manufacturers to say that the provided manuals or cables are bullshit ? Do you really want to go online for everything ? In my opinion it only shows a huge lack of respect and shows a good hint on how you treat hardware. Do you really do this with your own paid stuff ? Please do not do this, it only ruins the review. Are you really sure that someone is interested in a product that you despise so much that you can throw away the provided documentation with no consideration at all ? Hope you won't get hurt or get someone hurt one day by not being interested in those manuals that also contains safety intructions.
