I have got this fantastic sd. It´s surprising the magnificent sound it has considerating its low price, crispy, sensitive and brilliant sound with controled overtones

the price means absolutely nothing, Yamaha, once again, has created a fantastic snare drum

Fantastic price, close to the Ludwig Supraphonic sound, cheap, reliable, sounds great on recordings and live shows, what can I say , Yamaha has created a fantastic drum with a PRO sound with an incredibly low price !

I have one of these. It's awsome for anything! The ring is never overbearing, but sometimes I will use a napkin or something for a certain sound. I will put it up against anything 300, or 500 dollar more at any tunning.

Yeah you probably like the more muffled fat sound here with the vibration dampener. Personnally I like the opposite, the very high tension ringy snare sound.

There’s no doubt steel being one of the cheapest metal snares are a good buy, if you can find one of the better sounding ones, like this.

At around 0:45, the beat you’re playing sounds very similar to System of a Down’s cover of “Metro”. Nice snare btw.

Call me crazy but I prefer this to my 5” supraphonic. 5” is just to thin sounding to me!

@@warrenoids Jeah cause you can change the snare wires easily to those which Ludwig is using for their snares and the sound would not be much of a difference. I seems that you're still thinking money does something special to metal snares and I tell you what....no it doesn't. Just quality heads and snares...that's it. Ludwig isn't that special.
@warrenoids4 жыл бұрын
@@Alex-Grt I'm not talking about something that price adds to metal snares. I'm talking build quality and longevity. Believe me, as far as Yamaha snobs come, I'm probably at the top, but you can't beat the original man.
