Out of all the after parts for the Bolt you offer - This is the BEST most practical solution for 1 of factory design errors of the bike. Great Job! Now if Star would just go back and make a old school type of gauge for it, would be even better. Not a fan of digital.

Sweet kit! I was wondering about this one and an engine mount speedo. Saw the engine mount speedo video and that one is a pain. This one has all the parts you need. Do not have to remove the tank. Splice wires. Zip tie, tape, paint. Make your own spacer. Your option is far superior and looks OEM.

Edit: Though the install is MUCH more in depth than this video shows. The install is a pain but doable. You'll need to remove the headlight to make things a lot easier. There are multiple plastic clips you need to break as they are not removable. you have to bend the lower controls cabling bracket to remove the cable from it so you can remove the bracket. Once installed, I don't like the way the cables sit in a mess but there's not much you can do without alot of rerouting. You need to remove the electrical tape (4 wrap sections on mine) in order to extend the turn signal plugs. The turn signal plugs are a paint to unplug so don't do it in the cold as the plastic could break. I am still not happy about this as i would have waited more before installing this and still not convinced its worth $160 but its nice opening up the area above the tank a bit. I actually notice worse visibility of the speedo in the new position but its more due to the backlight. I would like to get an analog style guage with a white background. I am going to install the yamaha speedo hood to see if that helps. I watched this video and was like "That's so easy, I'd be an idiot if I didn't do it". I regret that decision. the plastic housing first off has a ton of mold bubbles which means its got air pockets all through out it so after a few months in the sun, this will likely crack and fall apart. This video doesn't state how much you have to tear apart to install this. It's not just remove old speedo bracket and install new bracket. You're basically taking apart the entire front end wiring and cabling which Yamaha DOES NOT make easy and yes I read the comments and rewatched the video for the 4th time and this IS NOT mentioned in the video. Definitely seems misleading in an effort to get people to buy the part. . 10 out of 10 regret this purchase

Thank you for voicing your concerns. To clarify on the air pockets and longevity, they are only in the high spots which is only on a few spots the inside of the housing and certainly not throughout. As for longevity we have one installed on our garaged Bolt here for the past 3-4 years with not a single problem. Maybe direct sun everyday for the same amount of time may be a different outcome. No past customers have notified us of this problem. You are welcome to return the product and we can refund you based on the condition we receive it in.

what you've neglected to mention in this video is that you've completely removes the guide bracket for the clutch, throttle and brake line, I am currently trying to put this on my bolt and there is no way it's going back together with that factory bracket in place holding/guiding all those lines.
@LowandMEANcom8 жыл бұрын
We do mention this setup removes the stock back housing, which includes the 'guide bracket'; that's why we designed our own back housing instead of using stock. We have no issues using the relocation bracket without the 'guide bracket'.

go back and watch your own video..... nowhere does it mention the complete removal of the guide bracket for the brake, throttle and clutch lines, you only state in the video that the clutch line goes in front of the speedo, which if you do remove the bracket that guides the clutch cable it works better to put the clutch cable behind the speedo therefore it's not blocking part of the speedo and indication lights. Nowhere in the directions or the video for this install does it state that you need to remove that bracket, you only state that you need to remove the bracket that holds the speedo. I'm not knocking your product at all, I actually love it, I'm just saying you should be a little more in depth on these instructions so that somebody that's not very mechanically inclined can do it no problem. Also, the nut on the bottom of the handle bar risers are 19mm, not 17mm, at least that's what they are on a stock 2015 bolt....

Do you know if there are clearance issues with this and the mini fairing ?

yodabolt I'd I'm curious about that as well and I hope someone answers your question, because I really like the look of the Bolt with the little fairing.

Hey. What are the options for replacement speedometers / tachometers? I don't mind the dual guage look, if I get to see both on a dial. I'm not keen on LCDs.

We don't have anything for that and all i have seen is digital.

@@salesdepartment5178 Ok. Cheers guys! I might have to have a look at modyfying something from another bike.

It doesn't look like this bracket will work with the Star Bolt windshield -- correct?
