Yamaha Tenere Suspension Sag | Quick Guide

Here's a quick guide on how to set your Suspension Sag (Race Sag) by yourself on the T700, although the basic concept would apply to other motorcycles.
This is not a comprehensive guide to suspension sag, static sag, free sag etc... there's certainly better (and more accurate) ways of doing it but, it's super quick and easy and all you need is two hands, a zip tie and a tape measure👍
Adventure bike race sag (with rider on)
Recommended 30% of travel
T 700 Specs:
Rear suspension travel - 200mm
front suspension travel - 210mm

Never thought about this technique to measure sag...legend... We should meet up to do some green lanes mate... My new bike just landed few days ago 😄.. Ktm 1090 adventure r. Don't have insta anymore so will need to sort out communication somehow... 😅

I think it helps if you are tall and if you want it to feel a bit more like a proper dirt bike. I like the flatter profile, but this might not be a thing for most people. You do get a bit more padding, but I wouldn't spend the money if you are just after an improvement in comfort 👍

Im 178cm, i dont have a solid foot on the ground (mostly the tip of the foot when both on the ground), would reducing the pre-load on all springs fix this problem ?

Hi, yes, it should help to a point. I can't recall how much preload is on the shock as standard (from the factory), probably not a huge amount, but it might just be enough to make you comfortable. Reducing Preload will increase the sag, which should make it easier for you to flat foot👍 although, people will say that you shouldn't use Preload to adjust ride height.

​@tankslapmoto9999 OK thanks for the help ! I can adjust the preload and if that negatively affects the overall behavior of the bike then I'll figure out a more expensive way of helping myself 😅 although im also thinking about modifying forks' height. This could be "clutch"...
