Funny: I have two Yamaha pianos and I might even have a TRBX304 in the future. Yamaha is a great brand!

Yamaha in my opinion is better than gibson, fender, and Ibanez, and they have better prices too.

I needed a new Bass , so went looking for a Yamaha Bass ( cause I heard they were some of the better Bass you can buy ) so tried the 504 Yamaha Bass and it blew me away!!!! I couldn't be happier with this Bass, it's perfect ( sound is Awesome 👌 and it looks good). Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peace out!!

The only thing this is missing a switch to go from passive to active. Could easily mod that in, though.

The only draw back I can think is when you slap, because of the pickup poles, the string can strike the pole creating an unpleasant loud "click" on the neck pickup. I notice some very high end active bass pickups don't have the poles on the pickups, I guess in order to avoid the "clack". Solutions? I guess a heavier gauge string?
@mutantbaby16727 жыл бұрын
Dude, 1, Lower the neck pickup 2, Have you never seen a Stingray/Bongo with a HH config?
@yqwgjsg5 жыл бұрын
If you slap the pickup poles, your pickups are likely too high or your action is too low. But, if your action is to low, you probably already have fret buzz

I just got mine and mine won't play without a 9V battery that goes into the back of the guitar. That's weird. When I used to have a Washburn Taurus T-24, and my first two starting basses, the Peavey BXM 4-string and Ibanez BTB400 4-string, they just required a plug-in. I hope this 9V requirement won't be a long term issue.
@jameslewis26356 жыл бұрын
Best practice, just keep a spare battery in your gig bag. As long as you always remember to unplug the bass these batteries will last quite a long time. I have an older 5 string version and that has been very good for me apart from the weight. It's fine sitting down but after standing with it around your neck for 2 hours I find my back and neck hurt quite a lot.
@peterthomas11875 жыл бұрын
A passive bass (such as a Fender Precision) has passive electronics and can just be plugged into the amp/cabinet to play; this particular bass has active electronics (i.e. a preamp built in) which requires an electrical power source - in this case a 9V battery. Nothing weird about it - a lot of basses are built this way...Musicman Stingray, some G&L models, Ibanez, Warwick, Spector...

technically that switch isn't a 'toggle switch', a toggle switch is either on or off, not a selector of more than 2 modes.
@TroublesomeOwl5 жыл бұрын
no.. a toggle switch toggles between different states or functions. doesn't have to be off and on

Why don't you max all your guitar knobs, and control tone and such through the Amp settings, like every other guitar player in the world. I for one, would have liked to hear the instrument, full tilt, and see how good it sounds on the clean channel. Here I am on ebay, trying to get a clue about basses, and channels like this are not helpful. More instrument, less talk please.
@DroctorKloebner5 жыл бұрын
thats what you can hear at 2:40. that is the most basic setting of this bass. flat eq, both pickups, full volume. and by the way: what you said is not how bass tones work.
