Great video and very helpful. After I got into the carb and cleaned it, T-dub cranked immediately.

Those are not philip head screws, they’re JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screws and require a JIS screwdriver. The screw heads will have a dot on them to indicate JIS. Using a Philip’s head screwdriver will only strip the heads, ask me how I know that.

Thanks for passing that along:)

Came here to say exactly the same thing. I learned this the hard way on my KLR! Stripped every one of them and had to cut flat head slots in with a Dremel tool! Lol

Doing this tomorrow. I've got no power on rev. I'm hoping this fixes it. I've done almost everything else.

How did you get that pin back in without pulling the carb?

If you are lucky sometimes a few blasts of air into the fuel inlet will solve problems.

Will carb cleaner damage the plastic floats as well as the rubber tip on the pin that is attached to the floats?
@DIYTechnician9 ай бұрын
Good question. Based on personal past experience it doesn’t do any major damage that I’ve experienced but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some level of degradation due to too much exposure

Could spraying carb cleaner up the drain tube do anything productive?

My gut feeling is no but it’s always worth a try.

I just bought a bike with 60miles 2022 and it won’t run when choke is all the way in. Will this fix it or is there a solution?
@DIYTechnician Жыл бұрын
I’d say this COULD fix it. If it runs choked but quits when choke is pushed in, likely a carb problem. I’d try everything g else first before tearing into it. Has it sat for a long time? Is the gas fresh?
@DIYTechnician Жыл бұрын
I always like to exhaust all non invasive efforts first before I start taking things apart. If nothing else works, given it does start and stay running when choked, cojld be a float issue. Hard to diagnose this stuff from a distance without the full picture and all the facts. Check the forums too if you havn’t already

Haha yeah. Sorry not optimal audio conditions for some of it. Sometimes I just have to get after it!
